My family loves the restaurant. Food was amazing and eating outside on the walk at night was great. My family thoight the restaurant service was good.

I also rented 5 rooms here, 1 3 4 7 and 10 for my brother's wedding due to proximity to Port Colborne venue and charm. They are old apartments over businesses overlooking the canal. It was beautiful to watch the boats pass by. Everything you need within walking distance.

Unfortunatly while nicely decorated and spacious the rooms were lacking in cleanliness. I had to wipe the wall in between sink and mirror in room 7 because it was visually gross. I gave everything a wipe and disnt complain. I alao rented room 10 down the street due due to ground level access as all other rooms have very steep stairs and my mother has bad knees. This room looks cute at first but was dirty and needs renovations. The floor was grittty. When I brought it to attention of the owner he was dissmissive and advised me he personally had swept the room. I asked for a new room which he declined so i requested the room be cleaned again. My mother was already turned off and left a day early leaving the room vacant for the last night which was understandable but unfortunate. I inspected the room closely after the second cleaning and it was still not acceptable. Mainly the shower that I would not wash my dog in. Photo attatched. Also notable the months worth of cobs webs on the patio of room 10 rendered it unusable.
Despite the convenience, view and charm and potential this place has I would not stay here again.

The restaurant was nothing special. Poor service as the big guy (owner maybe) serving was too busy trying to rent out a loft to someone. Ketchup bottle was empty, and the poor single server was too busy. Had to try to wave her down to get a refill a d ketchup. He even made a negative comment on having croutons in a wrap, which we could clearly hear. Felt sorry for the lady server, but she should go where she is appreciated, period. Would not go back for poor service and average food.

Stayed at the inn - large comfortable studio suite 6 with kitchen and bathroom - upstairs over restaurant - faced back - peaceful - off street parking - loved it.
Ate at the restaurant twice - charcuterie board excellent, linguini provincial excellent, tapenade and naan excellent
Shopped at the kitchen store - many interesting snd useful kitchen items
Loved being on the Welland Canal watching ships move through.
Visited the Pt Colborne museum which is excellent; had tea in the museum period tea room; enjoyed the authentic blacksmith shop.
Fun and friendly all round.

Rooms: Staff helpful and friendly. Well equipped. Fridge and microwave. Dining table. Pull out couch. Desk.

Nearby activities: Port Colborne has a great museum and collection of out buildings nearby.
Walking trails and birds at the Quarry regional conservation area - I saw a pair of Belted Kingfishers there - watched about 600 Canada Geese flying in to a stubble field for the night.
Great park close by for walking and well equipped children’s play area.

Safety: Very popular area for locals and visitors of all ages walking along age canal and to shops and restaurants. Historic buildings and homes. Reminded us of New Orleans.

Walkability: Good sidewalks and great views of the canal, many shops. I liked the Honey shop with it enormous selection of honeys and teas.

Food and drinks: Many good restaurants to choose from close by and others further afield.

The restaurant was great I would definitely recommend the food and the service. The room left much to be desired. We came for a family wedding and booked 6 rooms. My sister and I were in a “double occupancy “ room #10. There was one bed and a single size pullout couch both hard as a rock. There were no sheets for pullout couch told staff and requested linens twice—found a comforter and one pillow in a trunk. We used the top sheet from the bed as a bottom sheet for the pullout and discovered the bed comforter was ripped up. The room had an “old pet store” odour and a “renuzit” air freshener to compensate-didn’t help. The floor was gritty and it was dust bunny heaven. The patio was full of cobwebs and bees. We booked for 3 days but my sister and I stayed only 2 I lost $200 for that third day but not worth the aggravation of staying another night in subpar accommodations!

To all my Gluten-free friends this place is a MUST. They go out of their way to accommodate us. I really wanted the spin dip but the pitas aren't GF. No problem said our server ( sorry I can't remember her name). We have really good GF buns we can toast them up. OMG it's one of my new favs.
Definitely try and of the burgers. Hands down the BEST GF bun I've ever had.

WoW! What a lovely welcome we had from the owner! The hotel staff is exceptional. The only drawback during our stay was the cleanliness of the room, marks on the walls, dust, seeds on the floor, smell of the pillows.
