This location is celebrating the 70th anniversary with the original building, and it is architecturally significant - built according to the US style of the 1940s, with separate service windows for whites and colored people, and no dining space inside.
It is only 2 blocks from the Humberstone bridge, the Welland Canal and Lock 8.

This Dairy Queen I think is the second oldest in Canada. It’s only open in the summer and shoulder season because it’s a traditional walk up to order stand. We went to get ice cream recently and the servings were perfect. We had peanut buster parfaits and the chocolate/peanut to ice cream ratio was exacting. There are benches behind the store where you can sit and decent amount of parking. Service was pretty quick and pleasant staff. They also keep on top of the trash cans which is good.

What a wonderful venture back through time! Walking up to the window illicits such a sense of nostalgia, and being greeted by The smiling faces, makes you feel glad that you came! What can you say about the treats? Fresh, delicious, made to order hearty helpings to cool you off on even the hottest days!
