Another great trip to #porthopeontario enjoyed walking along tree lined streets, seeing old charm and gorgeous gardens. Relaxed with some great food and cold drinks at The Beamish House. Friendly service, cold beer, wonderful atmosphere. If You find yourself passing through Port Hope, stop in at The Beamish, it’s worth it!

Beamish House offers great food with generous servings in a cozy atmosphere. The outdoor patio is a lovely spot to dine during the summer, and the interior provides an inviting setting for a night out. With a real pub feel, this restaurant serves up delicious meals in large portions, requiring a hearty appetite. The menu includes classic pub fare such as burgers, salads, wings, Irish stew, and steak, all prepared to a high standard. The Prime Rib dinner is highly recommended, perfectly cooked to medium rare with thick cuts, served with mash, veggies, and mile-high yorkshires. The pub’s location has an old-style charm, featuring portraits of kings and queens inside, and a large patio area at the back that is dog-friendly. The place can be very busy, especially when there is a show at the Capitol theatre, and the staff do their best to keep up with the crowd, even when the kitchen is full and the place is packed. Many visitors find the prices reasonable and the portions large compared to chain restaurants, making it a popular choice for repeat visits. The friendly and attentive staff provide fabulous service, and the lively atmosphere, with bands like Monkey Mountain playing on the back deck, adds to the enjoyment. The patio is a favorite spot for guests, offering a relaxed environment to listen to music or just enjoy a meal. Parking is free but requires a short walk to the city hall down the street, as nearby metered parking is checked frequently. Overall, Beamish House creates a welcoming environment ideal for a satisfying meal and a refreshing ale.
