Had dinner here last night before attending the Capitol Theatre. Portions here are huge!!! We took food home. lol Food is excellent!!! Our server Sydney was extremely professional, friendly, excellent service. She was very helpful in making a couple of decisions. Sydney made our dinner a fantastic experience. Very cosy pub. I highly recommend The Beamish House when you are in Port Hope. We will definitely be returning and sending friends and family. Thanks again Sydney for a most enjoyable dining experience. CHEERS!!!

We came here Saturday night and there was 3 of us. We were greeted and sat right away. 10 minutes goes by, the server finally comes and says ‘I’ll be right back to take your order’. Another 10-15 minutes goes by and no one came. She wasn’t even in site. There was a few other servers just clearing tables and not one even came by to ask if we had been served. We got up and left. This isn’t the first time this has happened either and I hate writing bad reviews, we love to support the local restaurants of port hope. You have a great food and cocktail menu but the service doesn’t match. Hoping management will see this and possibly make a change.

Very busy, Capitol theatre had a production that evening. Staff did there best, small kitchen, fully packed patio and full dinning rooms. All in all a pleasant experience.

Get the club sandwich! It was delicious, the bread was toasted perfectly and the sauce was so tasty. Love the location and atmosphere too.

Stopped by for lunch on a day out. The usual fare of fish and chips (I only trust dedicated fish and chips shops for good home battered fish and chips) Liver and onions and sausage and mash. Don't care to eat these out of the house because being English I cook that stuff better anyway. Would have liked the Pot Pie but its only available after 4pm, so that sucked. Ended up with a burger by default and not choice. It was good and there was plenty of food. Chose to sit inside as it was too hot at lunchtime for outside and we needed some respite from the heat. Sat down before another couple a table away but the other couple got served first. A tad annoying. Beer was OK. Prices were average. Place was clean so no real complaints, but nothing to write home about. Would try elsewhere when we visit again.

This place is beautiful. I ended up eating before I left home. But the food being brought out looked delicious. And the friends we met up with ordered and said it was good. We Sat on the back deck to listen to the band Monkey Mountain. The staff were run off their feet, so bare with them. The place was packed, so says it all.

A good menu with plenty of choice. The fish tacos were great but be aware they're very big.
Autism selection of beer and wine, and friendly and attentive staff.
