The rye bread batch from the morning of April 9th had cumin seeds instead of caraway. Even if they look similar, the taste and smell is very different. The rye bread itself was good, but unfortunately it got spoiled by the seeds mix-up.

We tried cinnamon raisin sourdough bread awhile ago. Sitting with friends playing cards we devoured almost a whole small loaf save for a few pieces we sent home. A new favourite!! I love the friendly atmosphere..the chats in the lineup...trying new items...never disappointed unless they're out! A friend and I shared a chicken club sandwich..made fresh...worth the extra wait(weight!) Neither one of us finished our halves. Plus..the loaf only cost $2. Well worth the visit if you come from out of town

Been living in port hope for almost 2 years and only today discovered this gem. My husband ordered a Vanilla Frappe and Chicken club to share. It was absolutely delicious. We will be back!

Stopped in before for a loaf of bread. Checked out the menu and had to go back for a breakfast sandwich. It was sooooo good. Was the one with meat. Bun looked big but it was pretty light. Friend grabbed a mystery bag. Great deal.

Popped into Happenstance yesterday for some breakfast and a coffee. Was hoping to try their orange cafe Moka but they were out so I went with the salted maple. Great coffee but this one was a tad on the sweet side (for me). We also grabbed a Devils Breakfast sandwiches which was perfect if you like a little kick with your

Great little bakery offering delightful bread and lots of vegan treats (croissant, muffins, breakfast sandwiches). The service is so friendly as well. This was my best find of 2024 by far! I would highly advise the spelt bread and the vegan breakfast sandwich.

The best sour dough bread!!! Just a short hop off the 401. Definitely worth the detour. Pastries were also excellent and of high quality. What a gem of a bakery!
I love to support local and independents like this coffee shop. Stopped in while visiting from out of town and got a cortado which was quite good. There’s no seating inside (thus only four stars for atmosphere) but there are a couple of picnic tables outside for use in warmer weather. I picked up a small bag of one of their blends to give it a try. They seem to roast most things darker if that’s what you like. Nice selection of coffee and good looking pastries.

Absolutely the best coffee. My favourite is a latte. Happenstance also makes a variety of different breads and baked goods, which are wonderful. Highly recommend. Outdoor seating only.

An amazing beacon of flavor and options. We stopped in on the way though town almost giving up Hope of finding delicious healthy breakfast options and couldn't have been happier. The sandwiches were to die for, the vegan options were the best anywhere between Toronto and Kingston and the fresh bread was so good we walked away with a loafVegetarian options: Amazing vegan options abound
