We are from out of town and while in Port Hope we made reservations here as we previously had the best beef tartar ever at Twenty Six. Although they no longer have the tartar we enjoyed our meal nonetheless. Despite our initial disappointment, it was our server Jack (or maybe Jake) who made our experience this time exemplary. He not only had fabulous hair, he was also beyond friendly to two out-of-towers and exuded the small town charm we miss when in Ottawa.

The Twenty Six is a nice little eating lounge but I found the menu to be very limited and a bit pricey. The service was amazing as was the atmosphere but the menu options were few and for the price definitely not outstanding. Dessert however was amazing!!Parking: But limited in proximity.Kid-friendliness: Not really a restaurant for kids.Wheelchair accessibility: Would be difficult but not impossible.

A gem in downtown Port Hope, Ontario, tucked away on Ontario Street. An inviting atmosphere with soaring ceiling, exposed brick and a fireplace. Tables plus a bar with barstools. Friendly competent service and a menu focused on local food ingredients.

We booked a reservation to dine at Twentysix restaurant before our concert last night and were AMAZED! The bartender was phenomenal, super friendly and talented with making cocktails. She was also waiting tables and was super friendly. We ordered the Smoked Caprese Salad for an appetizer and it was delicious! We also ordered the Brisket and Steak Frites - both were so good.We will definitely return when visiting Port Hope! Would definitely recommend this hidden gem to others.

The cocktails were great and the food was good but we were not impressed with the setting. Sitting in the parking lot surrounded by dead shrubs was not that inviting.

It was ok. little disappointed that I made reservations for our anniversary, stated this in the field asking if it was for a special occasion. Nobody acknowledged it when we arrived or during our table service. Couldn't blame it on being busy either, we were one of two customers eating there.

Twenty Six is easily my favourite spot in Port Hope I love that they serve oysters, hard to come by in Northumberland! Great drinks and atmosphere as well

Anticipating satisfying some optimistic curiosity about the venue, we were sadly left quite disappointed. It was a Murphy’s law experience. The morning staff didn’t prep one of the starter and main options (one out of four), so that left me with one option as a vegetarian which did not seem appealing. The wait staff messed up my husbands order and when our meal did arrive after 1.5 hours, the fish was undercooked. The manager offered to send us with a new cooked fish to bring home (???) and comped the side of risotto I ended up eating most of (an interesting choice to comp since it’s essentially a side starch without a price point). We will not be back.

Five stars all around. I called to inquire about hosting an intimate private dinner and was so impressed with Chef Liam that I ended up booking my entire wedding reception at the restaurant. I will update on that experience later this summer. Upon a tour of Twentysix (the newest restaurant) I dined in the social bar and table (their original restaurant) and had the best beef short rib I've ever had. The wine selection was spot on and the cherry on top was the bread pudding dessert and cappuccino. Well done team.

Stumbled upon this little gem late on a Sunday night. The space is beautiful, rustic, warm and inviting. We were the only ones there, so having it all to ourselves was lovely! Marisa and Chef Liam were accommodating, friendly, and great at what they do! We shared all the appetizers: oysters, shrimp, tartar, roasted cauliflower and carrots. Everything was fresh, full of flavour, served in a timely manner, and the presentation was perfect! We will definitely be back for dinner. Thank you!

Absolutely impressed with this restaurant. It was a fine dining restaurant. The menu is small, which made choosing easy. We had tenderloin and mushroom ravioli the first time we went and they were both outstanding. We definitely returned for more. I recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to go out for a special date night and eat some incredible food.

Amazing food - try the duck! Creative and delicious and arguably one of the best places in Port Hope. Our server streamed the overtime period of the Leaf game for us (thank you). The servers were new and in need of training. Couple odd things - no olives/olive juice for martinis, the torch for smoked cocktails wasn't working/disappeared and our friendly server made us a very good shot, but he couldn't really tell us what it was (I know, I know, first world problems) - restaurants need to be ready for weekend customers - ensuring the staff are well trained and comfortable with the menu and having supplies on hand that can easily be purchased at a local store is important to being prepared. Twenty-Six is still a top 3 local spot.

Such a disappointment. We had been once before for drinks, and the atmosphere was alright, so the high price for a few cocktails went unnoticed. Sitting for dinner is another story. The dinner menu is limited, which is fine, I prefer that to 5 pages of frozen entrees. However, the prices aren’t in step with what is being offered. We started with the beef tartare, and although it was as expected, I couldn’t help but feel like I was simply eating some spiced up ground beef served raw. The egg yolk on top was a nice touch. For mains, I’d considered the tenderloin, but at $45 a plate, I doubted it could live up to that price point. I opted for the fish, and my partner got the duck. The fish was flavourless, and while it was cooked fine, had nothing going for it. The bed of risotto it sat upon was likewise underwhelming. The duck was better, but felt undercooked, and didn’t have the traditional crispness I associate with duck. All this accompanied by a 9oz red that we could have bought the bottle for the same amount, and a standard 20oz beer equally overpriced.I really don’t mind paying a premium for a meal I’ll talk about for a few weeks after. Unfortunately, I’ll be talking about this one for much longer, and for the wrong reasons.

Easy to find with plenty of parking nearby. The restaurant has a funky feel and both tables and bar seating. I had a dozen oysters and a fab main course. Good wine. All at a reasonable cost.

Nice place. The ambience was nice if the you were sitting in the right place. But I was sitting with a view of a plain and a bright lighted hallway right in front of me. The food was good my portion was small which was ok for me as I'm not a big eater but most people would have found it too small. My husbands steak was good but fries cold. Waitress was excellent. I would give it a second chance but ask for better seats. It was worth going just for the oysters they were delightful.
