The food was scrumptious! I really enjoyed my PH omelette! The menu choices were many. Although Faith was the only server during the lunch rush hour, she was very courteous and pleasant. All the booths were full and she handled the demands in an expert manner.

I am writing to formally express my extreme disappointment regarding the experience my partner and I had at Port Hope Diner this morning.
We have been loyal customers since you first opened and have always enjoyed both the food and atmosphere. Unfortunately, today’s visit has completely changed our view of your establishment. After ordering French toast and home fries, I discovered not one but two hairs in my meal after eating the first piece of French toast.
It then took 15–20 minutes before a server came to the table, and only after I flagged them down. When the bill came, I was shocked to find that the meal had not been removed. Instead, I was offered a mere 15% discount. This is wholly unacceptable. Once foreign objects such as hair are found in food, the proper and professional response is to remove the item—and in many cases, the entire meal—from the bill.
While the server did offer me a replacement, I cannot and will not continue eating once I have found hair in my food. No manager came over to address the situation, and I was told by the server that they “could not do anything else.” This demonstrates a complete lack of responsibility and disregard for customer care.
What should have been a simple, enjoyable breakfast left me feeling disrespected, unheard, and extremely dissatisfied. After this experience, I no longer feel comfortable dining at your restaurant, nor can I recommend it to others.

We stopped here for a quick lunch and it was EXCELLENT! The pork souvlaki dinner was incredibly flavourful – perfectly seasoned meat, fresh salad, fluffy rice, and warm pita. We also tried the classic breakfast with a side of pancakes, and everything was top notch: crispy bacon, perfectly cooked home fries, and some of the best homemade pancakes we’ve had in a long time. You can taste the difference because everything here is made fresh in-house, never frozen.
Faith was our server and she was outstanding – friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. She even shared a bit of the restaurant’s history, which made the experience even better. The owner himself is the cook, and his passion shows in every dish.
The atmosphere is warm and inviting, the music was great, and the service was above and beyond. Only small suggestion: a syrup bottle on the table would be handy for those amazing pancakes!
This spot is now a must-stop for us! Skip the ON Route and stop-in here for food, with a gas station nearby. Truly terrific food, authentic flavors, and exceptional hospitality. 5 stars all the way!

Great spot right off the highway. Service was fast, the staff were incredibly kind, and the food was excellent. The pork souvlaki was tender and well-seasoned, while the breakfast with pancakes and home fries was hearty and satisfying. Everything tasted fresh and homemade. Our server Faith was lovely and attentive. Definitely a place we’ll return to while passing through!

Cute little diner where we enjoyed breakfast and lunch. Food was delicious, service was exceptional. The two servers were so kind and patient with our two little kids. They were very accommodating to our child’s severe dairy allergy and their level of attentiveness put us at ease. We would love to return next time we’re passing by Port Hope. Great alternative to fast food joints off the highway.
