Had the Cod fish and chips with a salad. All was excellent and tasted fresh. Very good portions as well for the price!

Well it’s finally happened, a local institution that has been serving up absolutely amazing fish and chips for decades has been ruined by new owners. I just had the misfortune of grabbing lunch for the first time in months (has always been expensive) and I’m utterly disappointed, the batter recipe has changed drastically to where it’s just now a basic pub style fish and chips (gross, just way to much batter) and the fish was mushy and just so super fishy tasting. Have obviously changed suppliers to cut costs while raising the prices. Super sad to see this happen but I imagine they won’t be in business long and maybe someone will save the location from these people as it was the only decent fish in town.

Cod was very soggy and breading was very thick.

Fries were okay.

Poutine was surprisingly enjoyable despite the gravy being very cheap and the cheese being the melted stringy type.

Onion rings had better breading than the fish. Wish they used that for the fish.

Good fish and chips and overall service, however they don't salt the fries right out of the fryer which makes the salt not stick to the fries after they are served. Tartar sauce should be made in house, not served out of a packet.

Halibut fish and salad are delicious, fast service, and friendly staff. The only drawback is that the opening hours are until 7 pm, but you won't be able to dine in if you show up between 6:30 - 6:45 pm. I was told the staff wants to leave at 7:00pm. They actually start closing down sections of the restaurant at 6:15 and will sweep the floors around you while eating. I've asked the waitress to stop sweeping and got an attitude from her.

I went to this location as I have always enjoyed the fish and the staff. Tonight was the complete opposite! I arrived with my family at 6:15pm to have a meal. We were aware of the closing time at 7 and we were going to eat quickly and leave (note that except for four tables where there were customers, all the others had chairs up on them so that no customers could sit). Upon entering we were greeted by a friendly younger waitress who was kind and had no issue with us eating in. On our way to sit down the older waitress made the younger waitress feel uncomfortable and made it know that she was mad that she wanted to serve us(muttering under her breath to her that she should have not allowed us to stay); meanwhile there were 2 other tables! We ordered within a minute of sitting down. My mother wanted a coffee and the older waitress said loud enough for us to hear “we’re not making coffee, and if she wants coffee she can go somewhere else”. I could not believe the lack of customer service and rudeness this waitress had! Since this waitress clearly did not want anymore customers for the night she made our waitress come ask us to pay as “they were closing down their register” and we hadn’t even received our food yet! Unbelievable! They even had take out orders waiting to be picked up even when we were leaving! We left at 6:50pm and was just appalled at the customer service of this one particular waitress. She was very rude, mean, and clearly a bully; especially towards the younger newer waitress. You could tell our waitress was so cautious to not even make a mistake because she knew the older waitress would speak to her in an unprofessional manner and make her work hours miserable. I feel so sorry for anyone working with this waitress and hope this attitude of hers gets addressed. We will not be back and I can clearly see that there are more than a few bad reviews because of this particular employee. The waitress we had was great and continuously apologized for the behaviour of her college, maybe she should take some pointers from our waitress on how to treat other and the customers that come to support a local business.

Halibut and chips was horrible! Fish was chewy, and tasteless. I’ve never had fish and chips this bad. We have been coming here for twenty years, this used to be the best halibut and chips that I’ve ever had and I would drive 45 mins just to eat here. This was a sudden change , a huge drop in quality, now we don’t ever want to go back, so sad.

I am compelled to express my dissatisfaction with the service I received during my visit to your establishment. On the evening of Labour Day weekend, at approximately 5 pm, my family of six and I arrived at your restaurant hoping to dine in. The front counter attendant informed us of a 15-minute wait, which we accepted, understanding that it might be longer due to the busy evening. After providing my name and phone number, I was assured that I would receive a call once a table became available. Unfortunately, nearly five hours have passed, and we have yet to receive any communication from your staff. This prolonged wait has been particularly challenging for us, as we have been travelling for hours and are in need of a meal. As patrons who selected your establishment based on positive ratings and reviews, our experience has been disappointing and far from what we anticipated.
