Halibut House Fish & Chips

Very surprised that my halibut looked like pre-frozen Captain Highliner. I’m not sure the fries are even fresh cut anymore. $25 is a lot for something that appears to be pre-battered pre-frozen.

The food was satisfactory, but the service fell short of my expectations. Fortunately, a few blocks away, I encountered significantly improved service.

Great fish and chips and the service is great!

My grandpa likes to go to the casino, and I drive him. When we go there, we often come here for lunch or supper, so I've been here a number of times even though we don't live nearby.

For the most part, the food has been excellent. There was one time we were disappointed, but it's been great every time since. The service is excellent too.

I get burgers, and love them. Generally, the chips are well portioned, but sometimes I wish there were more. Sometimes my grandpa gets more than me and he doesn't finish them. I have OCD so I don't eat off his plate, and they go to waste.

Overall, the food here is really good and the service is even better. The waitresses are so kind and welcoming. They're also good at their jobs and keep the place spotless.

I've also had the fish, and while I don't normally like battered fish much and am kind of sick of fish overall, it's been quite good!

This place used to be good for fish and chips. I'm not sure what happened on the day me and wife went. It was later in the day but comparing to others halibut house.This was the worse for portion size
very little fries and the fish piece haddock seem small as well Not sure what happened. Maybe different cook that day

I had a great experience at this fish and chips restaurant! The food was delicious—crispy, perfectly cooked fish with golden fries. The portions were generous and definitely worth the price. Everything tasted fresh, and the service was friendly and efficient. I’ll definitely be coming back and highly recommend it to anyone craving classic, well-made fish and chips!

the pricing is ridiculous 15.95 for one piece of battered fish and it was mainly batter asked for sweet potatoes fries got regular fries. coffee was awful so strong. my hubbie had 22.00 meal with a grilled fish no bigger than 3×3 and a garden salad mainly Lettuce one piece of tomatoes and 3 pieces of red onion. never going back!!!!

at the markham and kingston road location in Scarborough, The male server was very rude with my family on family day from not allowing us to chose the table we preferred although the restaurant was empty, to rushing us to order, to acting surprised when i asked the dishwasher to get his attention to clarify my order which was placed at the table when i was in the washroom. The fries were very hard and not tasty. For 21$ a meal this is not the service/customer treatment, or quality of food one would hope for or expect. It seemed he was giving an ungrateful attitude for our business. He even said "dont come back if this is how you behave" when i called him out on rushing us to pay, when i let him know i will pay now but not be rushing myself to finish my meal at any point soon. I tipped very miminal, because it actually felt like he didnt deserve a tip at all for his unaccomadating , impatient and impolite attitude..Good luck. I really hope this location does something about the poor customer service skills of this man, because this isnt a new issue. He was rude and unaccomadating last time to even a few years ago, this restaurant wont be able to stay in business very long if they treat all customers in such an ungrateful manner.
