Tried Ontario‘s only butter tart doughnut, which happened to be the last one I feel so special to try the only butter tart doughnut available in Ontario today. It was large and amazing.

Not great. Don’t really understand the hype
I will update once I've tried to items but definitely order ahead! I called to ask if we needed to as we were driving from Barrie. I was specifically told if you're here before 930 there will be lots left; arrived at 850 to less then half the speciality donuts listed on their website. I specifically told the woman on the phone we were coming for the speciality donuts and no mention was made of if you want specific kinds order ahead because we don't make all types every day.....super disappointed to have listened to the employee and driven 3 hours round trip to get a quarter of what we wanted. Hopefully the 3 types we were able to get taste good🤞

Really unhappy with the apple fritters. We've been coming to Hank's for over ten years when visiting the region and we've had the giant fritters every time. Since the pandemic the restaurant has changed, I think there are different owners now? But lots of products are gone and the fritters aren't made like they used to be. They're now made with a pocket of apple chunks in the center, not diced up and distributed throughout the dough. I had one two years ago with the pocket of apple and it was extremely bitter, I was hoping it was a fluke so I ordered again today and upon biting into it I found that half the donut wasn't even cooked. At first I thought it was the apples releasing their moisture into the dough but I've made a lot of desserts and it's definitely not been cooked properly, the dough is raw and malleable. It's not exactly surprising given the apples are lumped wet into the center, it's better to distribute them throughout, and I'm guessing the oil was too hot which would give the appearance of being cooked through. It's a disappointing experience and not the first. I've given two stars because the kids working there are nice enough and some of the other products are ok but it's no longer worth making a special trip for this.

Love this bakery! Their donut are huge and so good! They have quite the selection as well. The apple fritters are some of the biggest I’ve seen. Prices are good, service is friendly. The line ups go very quickly. Very cozy and quaint atmosphere. I can never leave with just one item because everything is so delicious!

The pastries are awesome and the apple fritters are as large as my head and divine.
We visited this pastry shop on the suggestion of good friends on September 11. The young lady helping us was such a sweetheart - upbeat, helpful and patient.
I am in love with the cinnamon buns and love that they were sold in 3 packs. My friend ordered apple fritters, a loaf of bread and she was very happy with her treats.
See you soon.

Beautiful building
Apple fritters is the go-to, they truly make it the best and it’s worth it. There’s nowhere to sit, which is fine and fairly busy.
I will say I had their sprinkle doughnut recently, and the icing was chocolate instead of regular vanilla icing, which is the real throw off. Also, the cupcakes icing was very stale and plasticy. And the cinnamon rolls have way too sweet filling with not enough icing.

BRING BACK THE BUNS!!
Hanks buns has been a staple in our family since I was a child. My children look forward to them with every holiday meal. They had a distinct flavour and freshness.
When I went in this week to buy up as many buns as I could carry, I noticed the buns looked different, they felt stale. I as so disappointed to finally taste them. Hanks legendary buns are no more. My family is actually devastated.
What happened to the legendary bun recipe when Hanks changed ownership? It may seem like a small thing, but traditions run deep, there are a lot of memories that go along with them.
