Haugen's Chicken & Ribs Barbeque

The short version is this place was what Swiss chalet wishes it could be.

The staff are very welcoming and informative. Portion sizes are great for the price. Food is mouth watering good and you can tell with every bite that it was freshly made with quality.

I always loved haugens as a kid. I used to go all the time with my aunt who lives in port perry so going back was like a warm hug. The food is the same portions are amazing

If you’re going to speak your native language, don’t do it here. They’ll treat you like second class citizens. What a shame. We were looking forward to trying their food but decided to walk out as we felt so uncomfortable by the way (whom I presume to be) the owner spoke to us as we patiently waited.

I am visiting from Florida and a huge fan of Swiss Chalet. Haugen’s chicken and Harvest Sauce are even better and great fries. Jaden was very attentive and friendly. I’ll be back!

If you love St. Hubert, you'll love Haugen's. And you don't have to drive to Cornwall or Quebec for it! I'll definitely be going back soon.

Great food

Service was laid back and helpful. Our server was friendly.
The chicken was good but I'd skip the ribs next time I go.
Also glad they have two options for sauces as I wasn't a fan of the original sauce, too tomatoey. The harvest sauce was much more to my tastes. Reminds me of St Hubert's sauce.
Had the strawberry pie for dessert. It was ok but I'm a pie snob and wasn't a fan. I would prefer less of the strawberry gel they used.

Cute spot that I like to visit once in a while when in the Port Perry Area.

For the most part I think the food is good but everything including the roast chicken needs more seasoning. The outer layer with the skin is tasty, but once you get through to the meat inside it’s extremely tasteless. I have to add my own seasoning.
