Excellent, high end Spanish restaurant with great service, staff, savoury, exquisite food and lively atmosphere! the tapas and seafood paella are amazing! Gillan, our server, went above and beyond explaining the menu and giving us suggestions. This was an amazing culinary experience for both of us! We highly recommend Bocado if you are visiting Picton , ON.

Food was delicious. Good wines. Ambiance was good. Service, however, left a lot to be desired. Overall a very snobbish attitude in many of the servers. I have reserved a table in advance. Upon check-in, I was told that we had to return the table in less than 2 hours. This was not conveyed to us when the reservation was made. I did not feel that asking/telling me on the spot was appropriate. Was I supposed to oblige? Or could I have refused? When our server came to check on us to take our orders, she made a point to point out that I had "missed/skipped" the previous page in the menu. Perhaps it was because I have already read it and have moved on to the subsequent page????? I did not think that she was to happy to hear me telling her that I have in fact already read the previous page. Later on, I noticed that she never informed me of the daily specials (she was telling the customers sitting next to me about their specials). I asked her why I was not informed of the daily specials, and was told that "because I cut her off". So it was my fault apparently. I APOLOGIZED to her. It was at that point that she asked if I wanted to hear about the specials. And what was the point? I have already ordered my food and was 80% done. Meal was good. Attitude was not. Unfortunately the great food was not enough to entice me to return, or even to consider giving them another try.

We loved the Galician octopus, the toasted bread, and the shrimp or gambas as tapas, and as a main dish, we had a seafood paella! Delicious! We also had a wine from Mendoza, Argentina, and churros for dessert! We were recently in Spain, and in Madrid, Barcelona, and Malaga, we ate like gods—nothing to envy! Thank you, Gillian, our server, for this culinary adventure.

We ordered our food one dish at a time, hesitating with each choice, unsure if we’d enjoy the next one. But for a full hour, we kept ordering different dishes and desserts nonstop—and even a week later, just thinking about it makes me hungry all over again, despite being completely full!
How is it even possible for a restaurant to have every single menu item taste this good?
Kelly was the one who helped us that night, and he was incredibly polite, attentive, and welcoming.
A huge thank you for making our evening so memorable—it was truly an unforgettable experience!

It’s certainly a nice environment and a friendly staff…no faults there .
Some of the food items were not quite what we expected. The Iberico jamon 36 months aged was delivered as Serrano ham. There is a difference. The beef tartare was overloaded with lemon juice and quite salty, to the extent it was astringent and lacked any beef flavour. Also the accompanying parmigiana crisps were too salty…we left them after a few samplings. The pane con anchovy was very disappointing with one scrawny anchovy on each piece of bread ( nice sourdough…but too much flavour for a delicate fish flavour). The cheese plates were decently sized but the Mahon was quite hard …a little more time out of the fridge. Grilled octopus was perfect. The croquette with jamon was quite runny and lacked any discernible ham and it could benefit from a higher oil temperature to have a more crispy shell rather than soft greasy shell. The desserts were good. The banana and coconut cream was delicious. The churro was also good, although a little overcooked, churro should be soft in the centre .
Next time we will have to try the suckling pig.

We had a very good dinner here on a snowy winter's night. We shared a number of small plates and one large plate. The anchovy toast was delicious, but a second anchovy on each piece wouldn't hurt. The croquetas we're nicely done, but offering 3 to share and upcharging for a fourth just feels cheap. Calamari and octopus were good. The short-rib large dish was also well executed. Service (Eric) was impeccable. We didn't really want dessert, but we're swayed by the chocolate mousse with a passion fruit centre, surrounded by a cloud of mascarpone cream on a yuzu caramel base. A dream!
Sitting by the window was pretty, but drafty and cold.
All in all solid food, a little pricey, and excellent service.
