Great atmosphere, especially in the summer when you can sit outside and there’s a kid play area. However, I must admit that both their burgers and fries have been underwhelming each time I visit. What hurts me most is the fries - amazing cut but the potato itself (variety maybe?) just doesn’t deliver. I do like that they offer a vegan option so that is a plus. Overall this is a good spot when you need to get a bunch of food fast for lots of folks in the summer but nothing crazy in terms of flavour.

I finally stopped to try their fish and chips. I had been craving some for awhile.
The location is very convenient with ample, easy parking. Service was friendly and efficient.
The small order of steak cut fries was very generous. I am glad I didn't order the large. The tartar sauce was probably the best I have had especially from à fast food place. It was great.
The fish was just okay. The batter was thick and bready and it was previously frozen fish so not really tender.
Everything was pretty salty which is usually fine for me but if you're sensitive you might want to ask them to hold back on the salt.
Overall, it was a good, quick lunch and I would definitely give them another try.

Good burgers, great chunky chips and onion rings (think harveys style rings) - tends to be on the heavier and greasier side though. Food is not cheap at all, but what is anymore? $40-$60 for 2-3 people easily unless you only get a burger. Eat it as fast as you can as it's not nearly as enjoyable later. Skip the chicken, its not great, get the plain jane or double jane smashburgers simple and straight up delicious. I would avoid the other options as they just arent as excellent as the Janes - not terrible but lets be real, who wants a pork burger over beef? If you get 2 burgers you're just going to wish you got a second jane or double jane instead . Fish Sandwich is pretty good too, but again a little greasy and not good if you can't eat it fresh and don't pair it with the greasy onion rings. Sun gets wildly hot on a summer's day there, and wait times can be long and grumpy in the busy season.
It's reliable and far better than the wendy's or MCD's down the road. I'd rather go here, than just about anywhere in the county if I wanted a good burger.

Just want to start with this. The food is so good here. Which is why I drive over an hour round trip to get it.

And that I rarely review places. This just rubbed me the wrong way.

Walked into the empty restaurant holding my 9 week old hypoallergenic cockapoo, with my gf for a quick birthday lunch in the county - before reaching the counter or even being greeted I heard “you’re not allowed to have a dog in here” (which is fair, I understand) coming from the unpleasant looking cashier. So I took the dog to the car, no issues.

Ordered my food, not a ton of courtesy from the cashier but it is what it is.

Ate my food - again it’s so good, cannot recommend the food enough!

After eating I picked out 2 sweaters and a hat, went to the cashier, purchased and left.

Cashier said nothing as the merchandise was purchased, no “thank you” or “have a nice day”, nothing.

Also (the reason I’m writing the review), while purchasing I couldn’t help but notice someone eating chips and 7 layer dip in the kitchen area.. a little hypocritical if we’re taking food, health and safety standards so seriously that I can’t bring my small puppy in the corner while I eat, with no customers, in the middle of winter.

Again I understand the dog can’t be in their, but don’t pick and choose which rules you’re going to follow…. and definitely don’t be blunt or unwelcoming about it while you break the rules behind the counter.

All in all not the worst experience and it’s not that big of a deal - I will be back and I’m sure she was just having a bad day - but for spending over $210 on 2 burgers/fries/drink and merch, I could have gone without the hypocrisy and some pleasantries would have been nice.

Kid-friendliness: Kids loved the burgers and fries and onion rings. Staff was very accommodating for food preferences. Our order was ready in no time. I thought the fish sandwich was better than most. Crispy and fresh tasting, great tartar sauce.

Was excited to try this place now that the tourists have disbanded. Fries dry, burgers greasy and really lacking in flavour. “Chicken burger” is just chicken fingers on a bun. $60 for 3 burgers, 2 fries and 3 small drinks. We won’t be back.
