“I know all the chains restaurants ware supposed to be equal. But the meatball subs at Red Lake Subway are better than any other Subway I've tried. The staff there do a bang up job and deliver a great meal.”

“Title: Red Lake’s Best Burger & Vibes! 🍔🐾

If you're on the hunt for the ultimate burger in Red Lake, Spud and Dog is the place! Their burger is easily one of the best around—it absolutely holds its own against the Howey burger. What makes it even better for me is their cash-only policy. By paying cash, I save on the extra tips and taxes I’d typically pay at a spot like the Howey, making it a much more affordable high-quality meal. The vibe here is truly special.

The shop is owned by Elvira Custice (grandmother to the previous owner, Chico), and the new management team, Caleb and Deidre, have done an amazing job keeping those deep community roots alive. Elliot and I absolutely love the new atmosphere, especially because the transition has been so smooth. While Chico’s dog, Spike, is still around, let’s just say he looks exactly like Kujo from the Stephen Spielberg movie!

Thankfully, the new energy Caleb and Deidre have brought makes the whole experience so much better for us.The hours work perfectly for me; the lunch crowd is a massive meeting place for everyone in town, and it’s the ideal spot to grab an early evening snack to enjoy in Norseman Park. Watching the float planes land while you eat is a Red Lake staple that’s only getting better. It’s more than just a meal; it’s a community connection that Elliot and I are proud to be a part of.

Wishing Caleb and Deidre many more years of success!

Mark and Elliot
