I ate here many years ago before it was called this place. I ordered Jidi porridge, imperial concubine chicken, rice rolls, curry beef, etc. Jidi porridge contains pork, tender pork liver and crispy pork kidney. It is large in quantity, delicious and cheap for only 7 dollars for a large bowl. The imperial concubine chicken is the best Cantonese chicken I have eaten in Toronto. The chicken body is ice-cold and fragrant with ginger velvet. What is rare is that you can actually see the layer of jelly in the middle of the chicken skin! Delicious food on earth! The coffee is freshly roasted and very spicy and delicious. The rice rolls are better than all the well-known morning tea shops, the skin is soft and elastic, and it is better than the old street rice rolls. The only ordinary ones are salt and pepper, which is a foreigner's method of coating fried fish with flour. In fact, it tastes pretty good. To sum up, every dish is of a high standard, far superior to Cantonese restaurants such as Queen and Emperor’s Famous Porridge. Thanks to this Cantonese chef in Toronto for imparting his cooking skills.

Snack prices are a good deal! I ordered western toast, salt and pepper chicken wings, fish skin dumplings, Kyoto steak which was delicious, and shrimp and scallop porridge. Overall it tastes good ?

A little overpriced, ordered chicken and it tasted really plain. Glad to have a place for chinese food in this area though.

Food is better than it looked. Not overly salty but portions aren't as much as other places. Satisfied with flavour of food but service is kind of like they're doing you a favour. Notta thank you or would you like a receipt? Typical I guess.

The only congee restaurant that we know of in Richmond Hill that is open for business at 9am on a Sunday - So convenient for our schedule! Food was made fresh to order. Great quality and very reasonable prices. HK-style tea was also made fresh (not sitting in a large warming tank like you see in some other restaurants). They also have dinner items. Will definitely come back here.

One must order the Cantonese Chow mein.No bbq pork (but that is how we enjoy it)Flavoured well and not greasy or overloaded with sauce (perfectly balanced of crispy and soft noodles)This dish was so delicious that we pretty much ate most of it before I realized to take photos of our food!We also ordered:?Deep fried chicken wings 1x plain 1x salted-both superb! Highly recommend ordering!?Shrimp spring roll -excellent?Beef noodle roll-meat was firmer than expected but my hubby liked it. We would order again?Seafood Congee -good for the price —has octopus so my little one did not enjoy the flavour as much.Pricing is excellent and food is delicious ? this was a great find in our local Plaza by the Costco. We would definitely eat here again.Vegetarian options: Menu has optionsParking: No issues finding parkingKid-friendliness: Family friendly food

Need to put more meat in the congee. I stopped coming a long time ago because of this, unfortunately.

The food was great, kudos to the server (a very gentle old man) that told us how many plates were enough. The place was empty, which makes me sad. I hope they actually make good business because in price/portion this place is worth it. Will be coming back!

For breakfast in winter, a bowl of hot Jidi porridge, paired with crispy fried dough sticks, is so satisfying!

We ended up at this place because the other congee place we were going to was actually closed on the day we wanted to go. Searched Yelp and found this house to come to. They have a decent selection of items and the things are quite well done. The Chinese deep fried dough was very good and we ordered and extra one after the initial order. It sort of has a diner atmosphere in here but the decor is more fancy with the black chairs. The servers were all older men.We ordered different congee and fried dough. We got a fish congee and also a preserved egg and pork congee. Both were done really well. The fried dough was good too, so much so that we ordered a second order. We also did one order of the beef cheung fun, those were decent too.

The food wasn't so great, but the environment was acceptable. The only thing that shocked me was when I ordered eggplant with minced pork and it came up without any trace of minced pork. We barely touched it as the taste was quite unbearable and I waited till I saw the bill to confirm that the dish did say "minced pork" to ask the server. The server said "oh they forgot to put meat? Sorry" and walked away.

Customer service even more rude than what you would expect from a Chinese place. Lunch special portion is fair, not big, tastes good, doesn’t include a drink. Can’t order tea time specials for takeout.

Our Cheung Fun was served cold, and the Ginger Chicken was mostly fried batter...we will not be returning.

Solid. Came here for lunch with the family. Passed by this place when was heading to Michaels in the same plaza to pick up some stuff. They have a pretty decent sized menu but we opted for the lunch specials. Ordered the classic Pan Fried Beef Rice Noodle (12.95) and it was very good, it's got that wok hei (if you know you know). Not quite as good as Broadway Restaurant but it's definitely up there. Also tried the Sweet and Sour Chicken on Rice (11.95) which I think was excellent, nice sauce and good amount of chicken. Prices are reasonable, service is good, food is delicious, will be returning to try some other things on the menu.
