I recently placed a large order of Koobideh meals for a gathering and was thoroughly impressed. The food quality was excellent, featuring generous portions and secure, thoughtful packaging. The pricing was also very reasonable for the level of service provided. I’ve been consistently hearing that the best Persian restaurants in the GTA were Shamshiri and Darband, so I decided to check out Darband Express in Oak Ridges (Richmond Hill). The place is mainly for takeout, although there are 3 tables available for dine-in (but it’s quite cramped).

I got the koobideh for $15.99, which includes 2 skewers of charbroiled seasoned ground beef (koobideh), saffron basmati rice, a grilled tomato, peppers, and a small piece of tahdig. The portion was huge, and you could eat it for at least 2 meals, so you can consider it to be $8 a meal, which is cheaper than a lot of places. Flavours were good, rice was good, and I liked the tahdig! I came back a second time and they gave me some soup for free with my order. I’ll come back again some other time to try other dishes!

Darband is hands down one of the best spots for authentic Persian cuisine. The food was incredibly flavorful, perfectly cooked, and fresh. On top of the great food, the service was outstanding—the staff were welcoming, polite, and very attentive throughout our meal. Great atmosphere and excellent hospitality. 5 stars all the way!

Today I had such a great experience here! I ordered a kebab sandwich, and even though sandwiches weren’t officially on the menu, they kindly made for us after we asked. It was absolutely delicious ,fresh, flavorful, and perfectly made. Really appreciated their kindness and customer service. Highly recommend!

We went here for a Friday lunch with family, and even though they were super busy, the service was fast and organized. The place was clean, the portions were big, and the staff were really friendly—definitely the kind of atmosphere that makes you want to come back.

People always talk about good spots in Toronto, but this place honestly stands out as one of the top. They have two locations, and I’m really happy they opened one closer to us in King City.

The pricing is also very reasonable, especially considering the portion sizes. You can easily share dishes or take the rest home.

I’ve always recommended this place to others, and I’ll definitely be recommending this location too.

I can’t recommend Dar Band Express enough! The food is truly authentic Persian cuisine—everything tastes homemade, fresh, and full of flavor. You can tell they take pride in quality and cleanliness, which makes the experience even better.

The customer service is amazing—everyone is welcoming, attentive, and generous. They often offer samples, which is such a nice touch, and the portion sizes are always more than satisfying.

I come here at least three times a week, and it never disappoints. If you’re looking for delicious, high-quality Persian food, this place is a must-try!
