The wait was quite short but make sure you let the waitress know how many are in your party and you'll be handed a number they'll call out!

The food didn't come with the soup and drink included but I think that may just be for a selection of the dishes. The meats were all so tender and deliciously seasoned. The squid too! Which is hard to nail at a lot of places.

The only caveat is that the prices are a bit higher than other Hong Kong cafes. But even the teas are hand pulled and visible by its own separate window. So it did feel a bit more luxury.

Huge portions and yummy food. I would definitely recommend.

Stopped by Golden Horse Restaurant with the family for some classic, no-frills Hong Kong-style comfort food, and it absolutely hit the spot. Looking at the popular dishes shown in image.png, we had to order the fried rice noodles with beef and the curry beef brisket. The brisket was super tender with a rich curry sauce that paired perfectly with a mountain of white rice, and the stir-fried noodles had that perfect, authentic wok-hei flavor. It’s a straightforward, casual spot with massive portions that are great for sharing with the family. Definitely a reliable go-to for a hearty, traditional meal.

Based on the google review, we picked this one. But we were very disappointed at the food and services they offered. The dishes were very salty, tasted like something expired. The waitress served with an aggressive manner. We will never go to this restaurant again, and do not recommend to others. The experience reminded us that do not go to a place purely according to its reviews.

Very average Hong Kong style restaurant 茶餐廳。The notably positive is that it's more spacious and the seats are allowed larger spaces in between. Price is reasonable for its kind and in Richmond Hill area.

My favorite restaurant. I’ve been here so much and every time I go it just tastes so good. The staff is nice, the restaurant is clean, the food is cheap, and the flavour is to die for. So sad they closed down the Markham location a few years ago but I still come as regularly as possible. I even see some of the old staff from the other location here sometimes

Golden Horse Restaurant has resurrected the affordable HK cafe fare in the same spacious setting where Kenny’s used to be. For breakfast, we had two noodle soup combos with sandwiches under $15 each. Noodles Served quickly with hot milk tea or lemon tea.

Satay beef in the noodle soup was tender and drenched in sauce to go well with the rice noodles. For contrasting flavours, we also tried preserved pickle shredded pork with vermicelli soup. The toasty crunch of the luncheon meat and egg sandwich was a nice complement to the noodle slurps.

Skip it or hit it? For the value, this spot certainly piqued our interest to visit again and try other HK cafe classic dishes.
