Heard some good things about this place, so we decided to try it. To our surprise, the place has no full service anymore. Not sure what happened. It was like a food court type store now. The food is only Okay but a little pricey. For wonton noodles, I think we have to find another place in Toronto.
Honestly the BEST shrimp wontons you will ever have.
The portions are huge and so affordable & nothing on the menu here has ever been disappointing.
They deserve all the recognition!
Great wontons. Totally worth the trip
This place used to be good. Now it’s horrible!!! It’s basically like you’re eating at the food court. You need to help yourself with everything.
Eat like food court ! Why give tips . Food is ok, no service, no smile .
Great spot for traditional Hong Kong wonton noodle soup!
Signature Noodle (Wonton, Beef, & Fishball):
- egg noodles have great bite
- wontons are large, plump, and packed with shrimp
- beef slices are so tender!
- fish balls were enormous, just a little fishy
- chili oil absolutely slaps
For $16 (including tax/tip) it is a pretty decent portion. Everything is self-serve in disposable bowls and utensils.
Great wonton as always👌👌👌 ordered both locations
Jim Chai Kee is definitely the big dog of wonton noodle houses. Their wontons are the largest of all the wontons I have ever eaten, and the quality of the wontons have been consistently great - fresh and filled with large shrimp - over the many years that I have been a patron of Jim Chai Kee. I usually pair the wontons with either egg noodles or the flat rice noodles.
Definitely a fixture of the Richmond Hill Chinese food scene.
Great food. Friendly staff
I would give 5 stars a few months ago but this has become a 1 star rating because of the increase in price and decrease in serving size. The restaurant used to serve $10 per bowl of wonton noodle (basic) with 5 pieces of shrimp wonton and it has now increased to $13 per bowl with 4 pieces of shrimp wonton. Is the quality the same? Yes, but the increase in price and reduced serving size is disappointing and hard to justify. Hesitant to go back again unless I have a serious craving.
Restaurantji Recommends
The price increases at $1 and also reduces one wonton.
Cafeteria service charging dine in prices. Robbery
Good price with good taste 👌🏻 👍
Cheap comfort food. Very popular for takeout. I really enjoyed the soup and toppings on a cold winter day. Not as big of a fan of the egg noodles but still good!
Not as good as before and cost more. Well everything in this country costs more.
