It’s delicious, clean and affordable. No wonder there are so many people there at almost two o’clock. Is the service comparable to Haidilao? lol, whatever you need was handed to me before I even asked.

Originated from China in 2011, there’s now 8 locations across the GTA. At this location, it’s 2 eateries in 1 location. Yang’s Braised Chicken Rice and Yunshang Rice Noodle.

You order by scanning the QR code on the table. We ordered directly with the waitress instead. They provided us with a glass of complimentary tea, chopsticks, spoon and a napkin.

We ordered the Braised Chicken (boneless) and Braised Beef with noodles. Both were delicious. You can change the level of chilli heat if you wish. We ordered no spicy. The Chicken comes with bone in or boneless. If you want more toppings or vegetables, you can pay extra.

If you are a frequent guest to this establishment, it’s best to pay an one time fee to become a VIP member. Ask them for more information.

The food in general came out at a decent time. It got crowded as we were leaving.
You pay by approaching the Cashier at the back of the restaurant and stating your table number. BTW, they only accept debit card and cash.

They do takeouts.

Parking: Lots of parking spaces but can get busy since it’s close to an after school program for kids.

Kid-friendliness: They have high chairs for kids to use.

Wheelchair accessibility: No push / no wave button to automatically open the double doors.

A colleague (a white man) invited me to dinner. I recommend this newly opened restaurant. The food is delicious. When my friend went to check out, he asked if he could use a credit card. Oscar, the cashier, was very nice and said that he only accepts debit cards and cash. , next to someone named Polly My grandma started yelling and said some weird words that my friend couldn’t understand. After paying the bill, my friend asked me if you Chinese women always shout when you talk. I want to remind you that I am not in the mood to do service work. Okay, let's go on a vacation, and I'll give you a tip. If your English is not good, don't yell. Can't you learn to speak well like Oscar? Is it okay to ask if I can use a credit card? The rules are ours. Who can we show our shameful face to?

I absolutely love Yang Braised Chicken Rice! The flavors are rich, savory, and perfectly balanced. The chicken is always tender, and the sauce is so flavorful that I find myself savoring every bite. Pairing it with the perfectly cooked rice makes it a comfort food I can’t resist.

The portion sizes are generous, the service is fast and friendly, and the restaurant has a cozy, inviting vibe. It’s clear they use fresh ingredients and take pride in their dishes.

If you’re craving a hearty, delicious meal that feels like a hug in a bowl, I highly recommend Yang Braised Chicken Rice. It’s a must-try!

Our party came around 6 pm and getting a table wasn't an issue, but I noticed during our hour stay that the place really filled up! So be mindful as it seems like a good idea to come earlier in the evening.

This place has nice, simple decor with comfortable seating which feels spacious. The place visibility looks quite clean but I was bothered during my meal by two flies that were constantly roaming the restaurant.

For ordering, there are QR codes embedded on all the tables for you to scan with your phone to easily view the menu and order. This was great as you can view it in Chinese or English, a helpful tool since most of the employees speak Mandarin with the exception of one who was able to communicate with us in Cantonese. Along with this note, the service was very friendly. They were very cautious about handling the food as it was very hot, with special care for customer safety. In addition, they were attentive in making sure our cups of water and/or tea were filled. We were also greeted with thank yous on our way out.

In terms of food, the main dish I ordered was the "Coconut Curry Rice Noodle Soup" which includes wood ear mushroom, quail egg, sausage, ham, fish tofu, shrimp, minced pork, corn, sauerkraut, tofu skin, lettuce, sliced pork. This sounds like a lot of toppings but I felt there wasn't enough toppings for the portion. However, you can fill yourself in all you can eat noodles! The texture of these noodles were really good and I loved the soup, which had the perfect amount of heat to them. I also got to try their battered squid tentacles which were nice and light with a good crunch to them, but the batter didn't stick well and the tentacles were on the smaller side. Regardless, the tentacles were cooked well without being too soft or tough. Their Taiwanese fried chicken was nice and tender without being greasy and was paired with a yummy sauce. A winner for me though was their "Coconut Lava Balls" which were chewy and filled with coconut cream and sago! It was so tasty we had to order another serving since there wasn't enough to go around. I highly recommend giving those a try.

Props to them that everything came out piping hot and steamy! I can imagine how great this joint would be in the winter to cozy up. Thankfully, despite this heat, their AC was adequate so I could still enjoy the meal comfortably.

Note: they have a membership you can join for a one time $20 fee which offers things such as 10% off your bill, free birthday noodles, and others (refer to my photo for the post).

As a 7-year-old fan, I followed this place as soon as I saw the news about a new store opening in Richmond Hill on Xiaohongshu. Came here to try it today, it’s still as good as ever, good taste, good price, and good service!
