Went there and it seemed like an ok place. Got my food fast and ate it all and tasted decent. But then proceeded to throw up for two hours afterwards. They gave me really bad food poisoning. Would never go there again

This was my first time at the Whistle Stop Variety and Grill. The bacon burger and onion rings hit the spot. Yep is a good man and runs a class operation.

Reminds me of the variety/restuarant I grew up with. Stopped in for breakfast after camping, and they opened the patio so we could eat with our dogs. Food was great, we would for sure come back again!

This is my go-to restaurant every Saturday morning. The owners are very friendly and cheerful. We are greeted with a smile every time we come. The breakfasts are good portions and are very decently priced these days. They also have some specials for early breakfasts. We have also had some of their Korean BBQ which was delicious!
It's worth a visit if in town!!

The food was decent (no complaints but nothing special), the service was fine, but the ambience, condition, & cleanliness was … something we will enjoy referencing for years.

While camping in Rockwood I enjoyed the 2 egg breakfast meal. It was fantastic! The eggs, sausage and toast were done to perfection and the homefries were among the best I've had. I'm looking forward to my next visit to Rockwood. I'll be sure to drop by the Whistle Stop.

After some geocaching fun in Rockwood this morning, I was famished. I remember this amazing restaurant from last September's (2023) geocaching event in Rockwood conservation area. The restaurant was called Whistle Stop Variety and Grill. So, I stopped in for breakfast and was so glad that I did. The owners/staff were so welcoming and friendly. The atmosphere is very clean, bright, welcoming and so charmingly eclectic - as it is a variety store as well. I feasted my eyes on the menu and chose the breakfast sampler. I was not disappointed. It was exactly what I needed.

I chatted with the owner and realized that they stay open all day, even on holidays, as some of the local seniors depend upon them. This is so wonderful, a sense of community. This I'm afraid is/can be missing from so many of our communities. Many thanks to the Whistle Stop Variety and Grill. I had a wonderful visit.

I'll certainly be back in September 2024 for the upcoming Geocaching event in the Rockwood Conservation and surrounding area - called GHAGAFAP 21 (GCANY21 - if you are a geocacher - you'll know what this is).

Food was good. But watch out for HIDDEN PRICES. He added a $1.50 to each meal cause of higher meat prices. Ask for the price of the meal before you order. Add $1.50 to every meal.

Food was not great. Small fry portion with burger. Fries were overcooked. My son shared his fries with my wife. Her food had hair in it, so she didn't want anything as she was turned off. Price of meal seemed high. No bill given as printer not working. They emailed me bill and I found out I was charged 50% for eggs with hair in it. I see why price was higher than expected. I even tipped them. Place smelled weird and decor was bizarre. Will not be returning. This guy makes false claims..doesn't want to take blame..don't visit!!!
