They support local artists, cheer on every fundraiser and event, and somehow always know when you need an extra shot in your latte. The menu is full of comfort and creativity, but let’s be honest—the real event happens every Friday when the croissants arrive. The staff are genuinely wonderful humans who somehow make inclusive small-town magic look effortless. Whether you’re hiding from your inbox, meeting friends, or just pretending to read while people-watching, Bon Vivant is the place to be.
10/10—would happily let them drain my bank account in exchange for good vibes and pastry therapy.

A perfect, welcoming coffee shop in Russell! This is our family’s favourite spot in town. The coffee is excellent, the seasonal menus are always a treat, and the handcrafted sandwiches and curated goodies are delicious. It’s a warm, family-friendly space that proudly supports local makers. The staff are amazing, and it’s truly the perfect place to spend any part of your day.

Café Bon Vivant is such a great place to grab a quick coffee and sneaky snack or to sit and enjoy some time with friends and family. The coffee and hand crafted drinks are always a 10/10, just like their service. All the lovely people working there are amazing and always up to recommend a new treat or drink if you're having some decision paralysis! Our whole family loves visiting the café as it is super kiddo friendly with lots of seating, books to read, art to admire and relaxing colouring activities for all to enjoy. They even host events for the community to attend! My favourite would be the Thursday crochet/fabric craft evenings. We love that Café Bon Vivant works hard to bring us a variety of local foods and beverages to experience while giving local artists a platform to showcase their talents as well!
10/10 worth the visit :)

A petite cafe in our little Russell Towne. Delicious locally sourced coffee although the take out cups are on the small side, with healthy sandwich options and good baked treats. I found their prices quite high for the quantity, coffee take out cups are small. What makes Cafe Bon Vivant unique is the friendly service. So nice that they expanded their cafe & seating, all they need to do now is create a Rewards program for their loyal customers

I love stopping in here and picking up treats when I've got friends coming over. Plenty of options for my friends with dietary restraints (gluten free, vegan, diabetic friendly). The vibes are always amazing and the service is great. It's a tiny spot in the heart of Russell, but they make the most of the space they have. Can wait to stop in for my next treats.
