Food was great, and the food was ready right around the pickup time which is impressive for anywhere to do on NYE.

My first and last time I will ever buy food there. Worst Chinese food we ever had Cost me $46 for food what was barely edible. They are supposed to make it fresh, but it all tasted like it was sitting around for days. Only ate half the serving, before tossing it and the left overs in the garbage. We had S&S fried wontons, while very over cooked, it was the only thing we kept. We had greasy Lemon chicken in a horrible batter, the meat so dried out it was like eating rubber. The chicken fried rice was dry, had no flavor what so ever, and was nothing but a pile of sticky rice with a few peas, carrots and a bit of dried up chicken mixed in. The chicken chow mein, which is usually our favorite dish, was the worst we ever ate. It was nothing more than a watery pile of bean sprouts with some chicken on top and hardly any other veggie. The seasoning also left an aweful aftertaste. Even the egg roll sucked. How this place has a 4 rating is a mystery. Buyer beware!
***Take out, but the restaunt was unimpressive and empty. However, the person taking orders and answeing phone was very nice. Thus the 4 star for service.***

I placed an order over the phone on September 4, 2024 at 4 pm. I picked up my order at 4:30 pm. I ordered 4 dishes and there was only one dish that was decent which was the lemon chicken.
The vegetable rice dish was extremely dry, the sweet and sour pork was very tough and the beef and broccoli while I might add they should have just called it broccoli as there was very little beef. I called the Golden Star Restaurant to express my concerns and the girl answering the phone did apologize and said she would talk to the owner. She came back and said that the owner would give me a 20% discount on my next order. I explained that 20% was not much as you automatically get 10% when you pay cash so they were only giving me 10% back on a $47.00 bill which would only be $4.70. I asked her if she could go and ask the owner again and she did. She came back and said she would only give me 20%. The girl was very sorry but this did not solve the issue. I told her that I would not be back. There are a lot of people that read and write reviews. I hope that by not fixing the problem and not making me a happy customer is going to be worth it as this will cost you in the long run.
Very dissatisfied Customer

Ordered tonight. Very disappointed. GS House Fried Rice was minute rice. Clumps of white rice. It was terrible. The Chicken Almond Soo Gai was totally sitting in grease in the container. The batter was not cooked and gooey. Turned me right off. The Shrimp Pad Thai was like glue with the noodles. The beef with mixed veggies was ok.

The name says it all. This is a small family owned restaurant that makes all meals with fresh ingredients and is always received very hot. Personally, they are one of two places that have the best egg rolls in the area! The pricing is very reasonable and you definitely get what you pay for!

Vegetarian options: My spouse is Vegan and almost every option is available in Vegan and Vegetarian.

Wheelchair accessibility: Nice size doors to make entry easy and the dining area is well designed to accommodate.

Unfortunately the food was overcooked and the meat was dried out. The quality of the food as very poor. We ordered it for Xmas eve for a family dinner. I think, despite the fact that there may be more orders over the holidays, the restaurant still needs to take care in their cooking and prepping. Don't take more orders than you can handle.

They have their hours listed as open but are not answering the phone during these hours. They have no website or social media to have updated hours (if this is the case) during covid 19 which is pretty dumb when you are a business in 2020. EDIT: 3 years later Monday July 31 listed as open on Google. Don't answer the phone during operating hours. No voice-mail. You can't make this up. Must be out of business.
