Hubby and I had lunch passing through and had a great fish and chips lunch. The atmosphere is old time nautical, the service friendly. This is a true fish and chips place with crispy fish and tasty fries. We had both cod and haddock and both were tasty. Choice of white vinegar, tartar sauce, malt vinegar without even asking!

This was our first time visiting Halibut House & it exceeded our expectations greatly. All the staff members were friendly but Mary and Mahathi stood out significantly. Both ladies were attentive & Mary suggested such great food options for my family. Thank you for such a lovely evening!

Man, was it good! Dinner for four people included a more than generous serving of light, crispy-battered fish (3 of us had halibut, 1 had cod), delicious golden-brown fries, and yummy coleslaw (2 creamy, 2 vinegar; creamy wins, hands down, in my book!), an alcoholic beverage for 3 people, and water for our DD. The total, including tax, but not tip, was just over $110. I honestly don't know when I have had a more delicious meal of fish and chips, nor a bigger portion of the fish! That was dinner just tonight, and I'm already craving more. If you love fish and chips, you certainly won't be disappointed here!!! The servers were excellent as well: Friendly and efficient; they checked in on us several times to make sure we had everything we needed and were satisfied, without being pesky. All-in-all a wonderful experience.

I placed an order for Halibut House in Sarnia through Skip. Half of the order didn’t come - no fries, buns or coleslaw. The restaurant told me they couldn’t help. I’d have to contact Skip and Skip told me they can’t refund any of my order, that I need to read their policies. It’s great to know that no one is to be held accountable in these situations. Neither the restaurant nor Skip offered to have the missing items from our order delivered to us. I think I’m more shocked than anything else - at the lack of customer service and accountability. This meal was over $100 for two people and the two pieces of fish that came were the flattest, saddest things I’ve ever seen and the fried mushrooms were the worst I’ve ever had. That’s the restaurant’s fault and according to the restaurant the missing food is Skip’s fault because they picked up two orders at once and must’ve given the rest of our order to the other people. So disappointing!!! One extremely unsatisfied customer :(

This restaurant is like a trip into a restaurant from an 80s movie. Full theme decor. Food is absolutely excellent. Light and crispy fish batter. Not soggy. Choice of coleslaw, oil or creamy. Both are good in case you wondered. The king cod special and the lunch special are both delicious. If you order the king cod you likely have enough for 2 meals. Delicious fresh cut fries. Most tables seat 4. If you have a larger party seating might be difficult if they are busy. 2 tables that are larger are all they offer.
