Extremely Disappointing

I was really looking forward to trying Shelby’s after seeing some videos, but the experience was a complete letdown. I ordered a falafel wrap and a shawarma, and both were far below expectations.

The wraps were poorly made—the bread had a strange aftertaste with a noticeable bitterness, which ruined the overall flavor. It’s baffling why they don’t use authentic pita or khabus bread, which would have been much better.

The falafel was dry and lacked the vibrant flavor and texture you’d expect. It felt like it had been sitting out for a while, with no freshness at all.

The chicken in the shawarma was equally disappointing—hard, dry, and far from fresh. It was tough to chew and didn’t have the juicy, flavorful profile that makes a good shawarma.

With all the hype, I expected much better, but the food was mediocre at best and completely failed to deliver on quality. I won’t be returning or recommending Shelby’s based on this experience.

Staff was extremely friendly, food was delicious and atmosphere was welcoming. Always clean, tidy and quick service. Thank you so much!

Parking: Lots of parking behind the building. Can get into parking lot from back street or front of building.

Kid-friendliness: Brought 3 yr old niece and she loved the food! Limited seating but space was available when we came.

Was very excited to try Shelby’s after seeing such great videos online. The food did not live up to the hype. Very underwhelming shawarma. Ordered a bowl with rice and salad. The rice was good and flavourful. The salad has an aftertaste, you can taste that is bagged salad with preservatives and some of the lettuce was wilted. The tahini is extremely bitter. They are very stingy with the chicken shawarma and there was barely any chicken. My daughter got a wrap and it was good. The saj wrapper was delicious. The seasoned fries and onion rings were good. I guess for Sarnia it’s decent. But compared to the shawarma in Toronto it’s not even close. The staff was amazing and the atmosphere welcoming.

This is an excellent addition to Sarnia- the food is so creative, tastes amazing, and very much reasonably priced. Staff are always extremely friendly upon arrival and love the texting “pickup” service. Love this place

Embarassing, the chicken was fatty, garlic sauce tasted off and yogurt / ranch like, and bread is not saj, pretend saj sure maybe...you have given me the confidence to open my own place, yours will close the day after I open mine. Good luck to you surviving in the meantime.

I had a wonderful experience while trying their Bacon Ceasar wrap ( chicken/beef Mix ). The ingredients were fresh, and the protein portion was topped up to the max.

The owner was quiet, friendly, and generous. Highly recommend to all shawarma lovers.
