Hollandaise sauce was not hollandaise sauce. I think it was mayo with mustard in it, very sick and twisted restaurant.

Food was just piled on the plate. Very little fish inside over cooked batter. Chips over cooked. Server was not impolite, but uncaring. Set utensils for both of us on the table...didn't bother to place them. Cost was much too high for this level of service. I don't expect much from a diner, but a little care and pride in what is served should be present. I do not recommend Halibut House, Sarnia.

Unfortunately compared to the former reasturant here (family owned ..The Wharf) this place leaves a lot to be desired. The haddock which although was a good sized portion, did not however taste like a good quality fish...plus the batter was not crispy...almost soggy. The cole slaw had far too much garlic and there was no dinner roll. Soft drinks are served in a can ...although they do bring an empty glass with it. That was fine. Server not overly friendly even with the dining room practically empty.

3 of us out for dinner here today. Fries not hot. Fish batter not cooked all the way through. Ask for lemon, cocktail sauce n had to wait like 10 mins n had to remind her. No water refill at all. Served fries instead of the onion rings ordered. 2 waitresses and they had to clear n clean tables, run cash register, take orders n serve with a full house of people. They should have a busboy and a someone at the register. Maybe service would be up to par. Was disappointed and dissatisfied. I only ate the fish inside, removed most of batter. Then waited for the bill. Bad choice going here today.

very poor service. i go there because the food is good, but honestly....the service is so bad that today I waited 10 minutes to get the menú before I left the place. they need to step up the service quality

We've been to Halibut House a few times now. It's not one of my favourite places to go but the food is good and the staff is very friendly. What's lacking is the speed at which the food is served. It always seems to take longer than most places, which isn't too bad unless you are really hungry or in a hurry. Today was the exception where it took close to an hour to get our food and we had to bring it to the attention of the waitress before anything was done. We had been waiting 35 min. for our food when 4 other people came in, and were served their food before we were. The waitress apologized, saying it was a computer glitch and told us our meals would be on the house, which was very gracious of them to do. We got our food about 10 min. later. Several of the staff checked on us and apologized again and made sure everything was ok, which it was. The food was delicious. I had an omelette with toast and homefries and my husband had eggs, bacon, toast and homefries. We will probably go back again, as long as we aren't in a hurry.
