Very friendly staff and very helpful. Clean..

Due to unforeseen circumstances, my significant other and I were going to be arriving after the Reception office would be closed. I called ahead and asked what we could do, they were very accommodating saying that they would wait for us to arrive. Rooms are always clean, and comfortable.

Comfortable and quiet stay at this very clean and well taken care of motel. The ideal place to get a good night’s rest between long days of driving across Ontario. The room we stayed in was maybe not the most up-to-date in terms of hardware, fixtures, etc. but everything was very clean and in great working order. Friendly staff!

This is one of the best places I have ever stayed. The rooms are simple but exactly what you need. The service was above five star and it is located right on your way in or out of town.
We had an absolutely incredible time. They even have a pool.
I will be staying here again!

We had a three night stay planned in a pet-friendly room and had to leave on account of the overwhelming dog urine smell. Never have we stayed in a pet-friendly room elsewhere where we were expected to endure this completely unacceptable condition. The management initially did not seem surprised by our complaint since “yes you booked the pet room” but did refund the remaining two nights (unfortunately we could not find last minute accommodations for the night of our arrival). They also explained that the room had new carpeting and gets shampooed regularly, well then the problem is in the subfloor underneath friends. Will not be back, go elsewhere if you have a pet and don’t want every breath to taste of urine and overpowering fragrance. The outside sliding door was unusable and could not fully open or close with torn screen anyway, too many mosquitos to leave the glass doors open. Two stars since they were gracious enough to fully refund two nights, and maybe you would be happy here if not in a pet room.

Second time staying here, and will again

The Ambassador was so much more than we hoped for in a motel. My Mom, my brother, and I stayed there the weekend of June 7th. The woman in charge (I should have asked her name) was friendly and kind. The room was clean, modern, very comfortable. She opened the pool early for me! The pool was lovely, clean, perfect temperature, so nice. A friendly maid kindly came by our room to ask if we needed anything. On Sunday we had to return to Toronto and I was bummed to leave such a nice place. I don't know if I'll ever be back in Sault Ste Marie, but if I am I know where I'll be staying. All motels should be like The Ambassador.
PS. The flowers planted out front were very sweet!

Great stop after ending our Lake Superior circle tour. It was nice to take our luggage right to the door without any hallways. Clean rooms and great WiFi, TV. The staff was super nice and even offered me a donut when I was sitting outside drinking my coffee. Highly recommend.

We recently stayed at the Ambassador and couldn't have been more pleased. The owner was over-the-top friendly, concerned, accommodating and available. The room was spacious, clean and covered all the bases. While the motel is at the end of the shopping zone, the back property was huge and wild giving you the feeling of a rural setting. The indoor pool and sauna were an added bonus. We will absolutely be back there the next time we're in the area.

Lovely lady we dealt with, very clean rooms, very accommodating, helpful. Rooms were very clean and comfy beds!! Recommended to stop there!

Great Facility

room is big clean, beds are decent.
I would guess bad reviews are from competition.
Would be a great place to stay if working out of town,patio doors on back of room to a little patio with huge common grass area,pool was closed due to covid.
Fridge was cold upon arrival,microwave clean,nice tv with plenty of channels. Coffee pot for two.
Doing Reno's myself someone has done a nice job here,not just paint and patch job,bathroom big tile d and clean. Plenty of HOT water even with Us late wakers.
Save yourself quite a bit of coin to a room you park directly in front of your door.
1st motel when coming from West last one coming from east in the Soo.
Can't go wrong here,best of luck to the very friendly owner's.
Update We have stayed here yearly for the past 4 years. With each return visit more improvements have been made. Indoor pool and sauna this time, along with new mattress. Nice firm bed. Congratulations to the very friendly owners, keep up the good work.
