🌙 Stopped in Sault Ste. Marie for the night and ventured out to Giovanni’s Italian Restaurant 🍝🇮🇹

I went all in with the Tour of Italy:
🍽️ Beef ravioli, tortellini, gnocchi, & two meatballs
🧀 Plenty of parmigiana cheese
🍞 Calabrian bread
🥗 Beet, walnut & goat cheese salad

Absolutely delicious! No room left for dessert this time 😅👌

DO NOT GET THE TOUR OF ITALY!! I was shocked with how bad it was. I actually sent it back and I never do that! All pasta was overcooked and NO flavor! Wild mushroom pizza was a little dry but good. The carbonara was good. Greek salad was very good. The beet salad was terrible! Way too much vinegar and it just sat in a puddle of beet juice. Service was great. They do not make their own pasta! Way overpriced for what you get.

Perfect spot for a pasta lunch! The food came out quickly and was absolutely delicious — definitely worth coming back. Our server was professional and very accommodating, even bringing us iced coffee although it wasn’t on the menu.
The lady with glasses didn’t introduce herself, but it was quite busy, and service overall was still smooth and friendly. Great experience!

Beautiful building. The soup & the salad great but I ordered the tour of Italy & was not what I expected. All the items came on one plate all covered in the same tomato sauce. It would have been better with different sauces. My wife has escargots & they were delicious

Really cheap Italian food. Ordered tour of Italy. Large portions but bland, tasteless food. The sauce was straight out of a can. Watery and little flavor. Canned, crappy sauce. The pasta was average and the meatballs were some over processed, minced type of meat again with no real flavor. You don't get bread and butter and no salad unless you want to pay extra. Less pasta but bread and butter would be better. More Italian feeling.
Large portions of your food does not make up for little or no flavor. This would be great for senior citizens who have problems eating. No taste, no flavor or spices.
The inside is a bit dingy and worn. The glass on the fake fireplace was definitely dirty. The waitress was ok.
I would not go there again and also would not go to their other restaurants either. Apparently they really don't care about food prep and creation. Definitely a double yuck.

Waited 5 min just o be seated with no others in line and open tables galore. Workers knew we were there and ignored us. Should've know to walk out at that point. Ordered the Greek salad to start (mistake #2), this Italian restaurant is unable to replicate another's ancestral dish. Waited half and hour for the main to come out. Lasagna was so bland, had to use half of the parm for it to add flavor ( actually had to call the waitress over to get some parm first). Wife's food was semi-ok but WAY to much garlic in the dish, was very over powering and that's all you tasted. The rest of the night and following morning I was haunted by rotten egg burps from this meal. By the way, the bread was so hard I almost broke a tooth. BLA!!!!

We recently visited SSM and the this restaurant was recommended by the hotel we stayed at. From the moment we walked in we waited for approximately 5 minutes before someone came to greet and seat us. We sat down and no one came after that, not even to acknowledge our table. Other tables were being served who came in after us, walking right by us back and forth. 20 minutes later we left. To answer the question in your head “yes, we were two people of color.” And it is very clear to us how they feel about people of color.
