As my parents would said- “we came here 20 years ago and nothings changed!”

Which means, if you found quality meals here before, you’ll find it again and again!

We were lucky to arrive before the supper rush. It can get busy here as it’s one of the more upscale local Italian restaurants in town & reservations are usually recommended so you don’t have to wait in line or miss out on a tasty meal!

Our server was attentive and pleasant. Present whenever we needed her.

The menu is standard for the towns Italian scene. We skipped an appetizer because we knew the portions would be larger, and we got fresh bread to nibble on before our meal. The bread was a baguette that was freshly made.

While my mom ordered the special (ribs & shrimp), we opted for pasta dishes. I had the three cheese tortellini, my partner had the chicken parm with penne. My dad got the seafood pasta.

I will say this isn’t my favourite restaurant for the tortellini. It wasn’t as baked as id hoped and it was very saucy/runny. I like when it’s extra baked & not swimming in sauce. I also prefer the tortellini to be filled with cheese- here they do it with meat.

My partner loved his meal. Their chicken parm is amazing- very crispy and super flavourful. The side of pasta tasted very tomato based and itlalian- loved it!

Overall our experience was good. We will return and recommend to others. I’ll probably opt for a chicken parm or another pasta dish next time!

Parking is between Giovanni’s and fratellis and is ample. You’re able to make use of the entire parking lot (there’s also a small strip of stores in the same lot) and it’s usually not an issue.

Giovanni's hosted our hockey team for dinner. Great place for a team dinner. The staff treated us amazing. The food was perfect. Thanks to the Staff of Giovannis for such a great night and hosting us. Highly recommend!

I have been a loyal customer at Giovanni’s for over 30 years, which makes it especially disappointing to write this review.

Upon my arrival, I was surprised to find the women’s restroom in an unclean condition, with a non-functioning toilet. Fortunately, our server quickly made up for the initial setback, arriving promptly, and displaying a high level of knowledge, attentiveness, and friendliness throughout our visit.

I ordered the ribs and jumbo shrimp special, while my dining companion chose the veal chop special. However, after a 35-minute wait, our server returned to apologize for the delay, explaining that the kitchen was busy handling a large party in the private room. After another 20 minutes, our meals finally arrived.

Unfortunately, the shrimp I received was cold and undercooked, a serious concern. Our server apologized and removed my plate, but by that point, I had lost my appetite for the shrimp and requested it not be remade. A new meal was brought after another 15-minute wait.

What disappointed me most was that, despite the situation, no manager or supervisor approached our table to offer any kind of quality check or reassurance. When the bill arrived, I was surprised to see that I was charged the full price for my meal, including my sparkling water, cappuccino, and wine. Given the circumstances, I had expected at least a gesture, such as a complimentary item, to acknowledge the inconvenience.

I quietly paid the bill, tipping 20% as the service from our server had been exemplary, but regrettably, I left feeling let down by the management’s lack of attentiveness and basic customer care. Serving undercooked seafood is a serious issue, and I would have appreciated some form of acknowledgment from the management. Sadly, this experience has caused you to lose a loyal customer.

Travelling through the Soo and spending the night in a nearby hotel. This restaurant had wonderful prompt service. My husband ordered takeout and was asked by three different staff members if he had been helped. It was amazing kind service after a very roughy trip and the food was superb. Thanks so much would highly recommend and will stop again!
