Superior Bakery has been a local favorite since 1975, but unfortunately, the quality and service no longer live up to the reputation. The only bright spot is one particular employee — the redhead who works there. She’s friendly, helpful, and actually provides the kind of customer service you’d expect from a small, local bakery. Sadly, when she’s not working, the whole atmosphere changes. The other staff don’t seem interested in their customers at all. It often feels like you’re inconveniencing them by ordering, which makes the experience uncomfortable.

The products themselves aren’t much better. For the prices they charge, I expect fresh, high-quality baked goods, but too often the bread and pastries are stale or dry, and the flavor just isn’t there. Consistency is a big issue — one day something might be decent, and the next time it’s almost inedible.

What’s most disappointing are their apple fritters. This bakery is known for them, and they should be big, ugly clumps of deliciousness packed with apple. Instead, they’re oddly smooth, almost apple-less, and honestly not worth it. I can get better apple fritters from the grocery store. On top of that, the donuts have gotten noticeably smaller over time, while the prices either rise or stay the same. It feels like you’re paying more for less, and the quality doesn’t justify it.

A bakery with such a long history should be something the community can be proud of, but Superior Bakery simply doesn’t deliver anymore. It’s sad to see a local favorite decline, and unless there’s serious improvement in both service and quality, I can’t recommend it.

The new owners are sinking a company that has been in this city since 1975. The apple fritters are half the size of what they used to be and are as smooth as a babys bottom with next to no apple chunks. The new owner is rude whenever there is an issue. There is hardly a selection on the deli and if it wasn't for the young redhead we would no longer be customers here.

Recommend coming here to get a fresh sandwich and bread. We were here for a ball tournament and if you're tired of eating fast food, come here!

I want to say thank you to the gentleman that was creating his sandwich before heading to camp. I ordered the exact same sandwich and it was delicious! The rye bread was an excellent choice. The staff were, extremely kind and personable….above board. 👏👍

The last time I was in superior bakery (more than a year ago) I was berated by a staff member who I believe, thought she was management for wanting to buy a dozen cinnamon buns. Today I walked in and bought 4, without issue. The cinnamon buns were amazing 🤩 great job folks 😁

I have been buying donuts and breads from Superior Bakery for many years. Just the other morning, on the way to work, I stopped for a few apple fritters. When I got to work I offered them to my coworkers only to find the bottoms of the apple fritters burnt!! This would be the first time it has ever happened and I was shocked! These fritters never should have been sold! I would have dumped that batch. Maybe it was an equipment issue? Or timing? Please inspect the product before it's brought out to sell.

Well it took two days to polish off the gigantic apple fritter we bought at Superior Bakery, but our tastebuds will not soon forget the yumminess! 🤗

Came here to grab a sandwich to go. My partner had never experienced superior bakery before so I figured we’d support local & get some grub.

This place is best known for its donuts. People claim they’re the best donuts ever. I disagree- I’m not a huge donut person, but they aren’t anything to write home about. They have some other tasty bakery items that are just as good if not better. There’s even Italian goods here, if you’re not from the area it’s worth checking out.

I love how they sell local home made pastas and sauces, I wish we wouldve had the time to enjoy more of this.

The deli counter wasn’t busy, but the lady working didn’t seem to be having a great day. She was quite short and succinct with us. Seemed annoyed we wanted some service. They also seemed to be out of many items.

They have boards on the wall behind the counter that indicate the options for purchase or for your sandwich.

We were able to get tasty sandwiches nonetheless, but wished we’d had a more pleasant interaction.

Next time I think we’d try somewhere else. However I do think their sandwiches are a great alternative that you can customize if you’re looking for something more home made.

The sandwich itself was great. Fresh bread, tasted great and it was huge.

Walking into this place is such an awesome experience. The aroma of freshly baked goods hits you the second you step through the door. While you could easily get your bread and baked goods at any grocery store, there's something special in the experience of getting it direct from a dedicated bakery.

You really get what you pay for at Superior, as the sizes for everything from doughnuts to baguettes to cinnamon buns is always on the large size. Staff is also very friendly and seem to really take pride in what they do.

Parking: Can be a little difficult to get out of the parking lot, due to the newly installed street lights on Great Northern. That said, they installed a back exit onto the road that goes into WalMart to help with that problem.
