We were SUPER disappointed when we went here last weekend for our son's sweet 16 birthday dinner. We told the server right away it was his birthday and we watched them sing to 3 different tables during our time there but when we were done eating she gave us our bills and were told thanks for coming in. I even mentioned it a second time when she was billing us out and still nothing. It really put a damper on the whole dinner and I felt really bad for my son being left out especially with that many people around us getting special treatment for their bdays.

The food was absolutely wonderful, the portions were great, and the price was fairly reasonable for what you got. That said, the service was fairly disorganized as the server had to rechecked the bag several times and the food took way longer than expected to be prepared. We waited almost 40 minutes for a somewhat regular family take-out order (1 chicken, 4 sides, and a salad). Even with all the rechecking, when all was said and done we got home to find they forgot the stuffing. Thankfully there was still enough food to go around.

The waitress, Cheryl, was very pleasant and efficient as usual. The food here is getting worse. The green beans were cold and not cooked, the chicken gets smaller every time and it was full of grissel. And to top it off the debit machine didn't print. Swiss Chalet use to be one of my favorites but is not any more. Keep this up and you will be out of business.

Its our first time to eat there but were so amazed because the atmosphere is very nice, even the staff were so friendly, we enjoy our food, especially the spring rolls we love it, highly reccommended ?

We were told 6:20 pm to pick up our order. My brother and Mom went to get the food—my brother went in and paid at 6:20 and waited….and waited…
Lots of people came in and got their orders and left. He kept seeing his name on the monitor, until after an hour he told my Mom that he had to leave or else he might break something. His name had disappeared from the monitor by this point. He wisely left and walked all the way home. My Mom stayed because she’d already paid $100 for the meal. My Mom took over the waiting at that point.
She waited….and waited…
My Mom is not one to sit idly—-she inquired no less than 3 times and was told to continue to wait.
Finally at 8pm, 1 hour and 40 minutes after the order was supposed to be ready, she was told the order had been lost and it would be another 20 minutes. She called me in tears. I can’t remember hearing her so upset…
The manager did end up comping the meal, but does that make it right? It was 2 hours late for a takeout order. My mom and brother were traumatized. The manager apologized and used the term “beyond our control.” Really? Where does the buck stop? Anyway the meal vouchers we got as compensation will go unused.

Getting seated was a bit awkward. We just stoid there, while the person behind the bar ignored us, but once we were seated our server was great. Left her a good tip - she was a standout. Usual Swiss Chalet fare, but meal got to the table nice and hot - always a plus.

Swiss chalet has been a go-to for me and my family for many years. We have been extremely happy to see it back in Sault Ste Marie. They continue to serve good food and provide excellent service.

Wheelchair accessibility: They have multiple wheelchair parking and an access ramp near the door.
