This is one of three places at this plaza called Evergold Centre that offers $6 BBQ deals and today I got BBQ pork on rice which came with some greens and an odd watery soup broth. Couldn’t drink it!
But the pork was delicious and juicy and I love that it comes with green veggies! It’s a tiny, cramped place and wasn’t seat friendly. But it was a short line up and fast service when I was there before 12 noon. I’d come back but I’ll go to other BBQ places to compare taste and portions.

Asked for one pound of roasted pork rib, they said can’t, has to be at least one long rib, then I asked for that which is more than one pound that I paid, but after I got home and opened the box, there is no rib, only meat, and I doubted if it’s more than one pound, the service and atmosphere are also bad.

While the sub $10 price is unmatched, it comes at the expense of quality. Meat is largely dry, veggies simply steamed, bland soup and too much rice.

On my recent visit to neighbouring New Sun BBQ, I was advised to also try Ho Ho BBQ, so of course I did just that- I got comparable dishes at both spots and tried them side by side. Simply put, I much preferred Ho Ho's offerings- they tasted much better to me than what I had next door, and the lady working the cash was just a bundle of warmth and just so kind. The value proposition is exceptional with what you get here. Both the pork and soy chicken had great flavour, and I love the little 'sauce'/garnish of finely chopped herbs/aromatics they put on top. My only hesitation with eating here in the future would stem from the cleanliness/hygiene... there are literally entire pigs hanging all over right when you enter, and it's generally very tight/squeeze (pickup only) and maybe not the cleanest... though I'm sure it looks worse than it is. Is it the best bbq pork and soy chicken I've ever had? Certainly not, not by quite a margin, but for the money it's solid and I'd happily eat there if in the area again and on a budget.

Small takeout restaurant, $6 tax in for a combo of meat, rice, veggies and soup; great price in today's economy. Lineup was out the door but wait time reasonable. No chicken left at 7pm so need to go earlier, I got the BBQ pork which was quite decent.
Small take out place. I didn’t realize I could get 2 meats for $6. I just got the bbq pork. It’s more charred than other places plus it is a bit fattier but still had meat. You need some fat or it can be dry. Came with vegetables. I think it’s cash only plus if you’re there you should go get a winter melon pastries inside at fragrant bakery (known for this speciality) anyways it’s a bit out of the way for me but I would try it again for the price. The portion is smaller than some places but for $6 I can buy 2 and it would be about the same so ?♀️ why not. Soup was decent too. I didn’t have issues but I didn’t request a leaner cut. So I can’t comment on other reviews.

Be careful. I went to buy two sets of rice today. I was persuaded that chicken was on sale on Wednesday, so I ordered an extra chicken. However, I hurried home and found that I had been charged an extra 5 yuan. The chicken also had a sour smell. It tasted so bad that I didn’t dare to eat it, so I threw it away. The so-called double rice with barbecued pork only gave me 4 pieces. It was so deceptive. I will never go there again.
