I’m from Scarborough so I know there are many places to get fish n chips in the neighbourhood, but Malt N’ Salt is our favourite. The fish is always crispy, even if you get takeout. Hidden gem. Not to be missed.
Pretty good take out spot for fish n chips!The interior is a little old, but doesn’t matter because it’s a take out spot anyway! Very friendly service/owner and the fish and chips are great!There are 2 spots inside if you’d like to eat in, but I think it’s meant to be a take out spot.I got the halibut fish and chips and enjoyed it. Would get it again if in the area again!

The fish and the batter are second to none as well as the chips ……and I’m from Scotland , so I can be a hard judge so can my mother. We are both very impressed. Also, there’s sides of coleslaw which are made in house that I highly recommend.
I bet if they were to do mushy peas on the side, it would be dynamite too
