Busy for a Wednesday night. We waited about 10 minutes for a table and once we placed our order, the food came out within 15 minutes. Salted Fish and Chicken Fried Rice was delicious however serving was a bit small. The E-Mein was a large platter but lacked flavor - not even any salt added. The turnip dish was very tasty and so was the Congee with preserved egg and pork. Not bad for the total price of about $60.00 for four dishes.

I went to Mr. Congee for the first time. I ordered the King Crab dish among other dishes. On the menu the price was $39.60. When I got my bill they charged me $44.70 instead. I questioned how come the price was higher and different and her response was that the King Crab was bigger so they charged me more for it but neglected to tell us about it. If I didn't look at the bill I wouldn't even know they charged me more. I paid the bill and walked away. After thinking about it, I was disturbed about this and wondered if they have the right to do that without advising me that they would change the price on me without my knowledge and I am to accept this and pay the extra $5.10 plus more tax and tip. In business practice, they should have came over and tell me that they are charging me extra money and if I still want that dish or not and then I would be happy to accept or cancel that order. I didn't raise an issue as I was with friends and Mr. Congee service was poor so they were anxious to leave since it took so long to get the bill. So beware of this and raise your voice if that happens to you as I didn't and now regretting it.

This restaurant has a variety of foods. I like their daily lunch specials, 2 choices per day with up to 4 dishes each. Price is a bit high; but reasonable.

All the other reviews are true. Come with a canto speaker, who can order. Dishes are good sized and canto food very good. Poor service, unless regular. A little more classy decor than your usual chinese restaurant. Good value and prices.
