13th Street Winery is a popular destination known for its combination of wine, food, and art. Visitors are welcomed into a spacious tasting room with a covered porch, ideal for outdoor wine sipping. The winery features two large pavilions for dining and wining, along with plenty of outdoor seating areas.
A visit to the on-site bakery is highly recommended, especially for their butter tarts, which are considered outrageous by many guests. The winery offers a variety of wines, including Rose Brut, Pinot Grigio, Riesling, and Gamay. The Rose Brut was the best of the group, slightly too bubbly but enjoyable. The Pinot Grigio and Riesling were decent but lacked structure and felt watery, while the Gamay was undrinkable due to the heat.
Guests can enjoy a casual lunch at the Vineyard Kitchen Bistro, which is certified by 100km Foods. Once seated, visitors order their food directly at the counter, and drinks are served immediately. A table number is given, and staff bring the food to the table. Even on busy Saturdays, service remains fast. Popular dishes include a strawberry and goat cheese salad, which was plentiful and excellent, along with a smoky Broccolini salad and grilled chicken parmesan. The basket of truffle fries and the cheese & charcuterie board are also highly praised.
Throughout the grounds, art installations and sculptures, such as "Unzip the Earth," add to the charming atmosphere. Visitors often explore the art gallery and stroll through the vineyard, enjoying live music and the beautiful setting. The full experience of wine, food, art, and outdoor beauty makes 13th Street Winery a must-visit spot in Niagara's wine country.
