Scrumptious Creative Catering and Take Home Food

I felt compelled to write a review after seeing so many negative comments. In all fairness this catering company was used at our wedding (@stonefields) about 7 years ago. Our experience was completely positive. I still remember going for the sample tasting at their “shop” in Stitsville. Everything we tried was fantastic, it was a great experience. That sentiment continued on game day too. I can still taste the “steak shots” hor d’oeuvres, amazing! Our main was amazing and the late night poutine station was a winner as well. Overall we we extremely happy with scrumptious and their staff.

AVOID! Very unprofessional and unethical business practices with this caterer. The review posted by Mark Dies is accurate. We had the exact same issues, except the main dish at our wedding was terrible. Jeff, the owner, dodged our calls and emails for nearly a month, and only finally called us back after we notified him we were willing to take legal action. He was withholding our revised invoice and leftover beverages. When we did finally get a revised invoice, he charged us for liquor that wasn’t even supposed to be on our bar rail!We have never experienced such awful customer service, and are astonished he can operate a business as he does.

Jeff the owner is very unprofessional. Pre-event, he puts on a good show and makes you feel good, but that's about it. Food was good but they did not live up to promises that were made! I'll just give a few examples:Me and my wife were concerned about not having time to sample our apps on the big day, we were promised we would get some, neither of us had any. When confronted about this after the event, instead of just apologizing, Shannon basically passed the blame to her server saying "Bride and Groom plate of canapes. I prepared that mixed granite tray myself. My server who I always send to the bride, groom and wedding party was sent by me personally. It was Amanda and I saw her go outside while photos were being taken" this is a direct quote from her e-mail response.After the event was done I expected that invoices would be cleared up fairly quickly. I enquired about this after the event and was told should be a day or 2 we had other events that weekend. Fine. A week goes by and nothing. I enquire again. Today or tomorrow. 2 days go by... less then impressed by this point. I e-mailed and called this behaviour unprofessional. Within the hour owner Jeff called me to lecture me on my incorrect "verbiage" of the word unprofessional... ironic since this phone call was super professional Jeff... and I believe not meeting multiple timelines would be the difinition of unprofessional.I could go on but you get the idea!Overall not worth the stress and headaches.

Did not hear back when went for a quote, nor did I get a return call when I called. Went with Grenfell catering for a wedding instead :( was disappointed in this company as I was hoping for feedback and to support a local business in my community.

Last Saturday's three-course meal at Rural Root Theatre Company's presentation of Cafe Noir murder mystery was absolutely fantastic!!!!!! The first course was elegantly presented and delicious,the entree of Roasted Red Pepper Chicken with a white wine sauce was indeed "scrumptious "and the dessert was...what can I say? It was well worth the calories . Thank you for making a great night even better !

Scrumptious provided catering for the Rural Roots Theatre Company's dinner theatre. It was fabulous. My favourite part of the meal was the vegetables with the entree. Carrots, broccoli, zucchini, and pepper all perfectly cooked and delicious.

Tasty food served piping hot. Should I ever need a caterer I know who to call.

I would highly recommend Scrumptious for your catered event. Shannon was a great help in recommending the perfect hors d'oeuvres for my daughter's graduation celebration. They were absolutely delicious and the presentation was superb!

AVOIDWe used Scrumptious for our wedding, food was good and Jeff's services the night of were also pleasant. That's where it ends.Service pre and post wedding was horrible, working with Jeff was an absolute nightmare. The things he promised as the smiley local business down the street is not who he is or what he represents at all. We had been warned by a few other Stittsville residents that it was not an easy company to work with, I wish we had listened.The list of complaints is too long, but in short if you were planning on using this company I would immediately look somewhere else. It was truly a terrible taste left in our mouths after what was an excellent wedding, it's too bad really.Do yourself a favour and avoid the headaches.
