My family and I had a delightful meal. The waitress was very nice to us and even gave my wife a great tip for handling red wine stains on a dress! The decor may seem dated to some, but to us it was charming. We will definitely be back the next time we visit Stratford! Dessert was yummy also!

Stratford staple. Locals eat here a lot. Family owned restaurant. Staff are nice and helpful. If you are in a rush it probably isn't your best choice, but otherwise relax and enjoy!
Menu is extensive, so everyone can find something they like. From chicken fingers to Greek selections, fish dinners to steak, pasta to pancakes (tip: add strawberries and blueberries to your pancakes. Mmmmm).
You can easily make reservations from their website, or call them. Lovely people working hard to serve the community (literally).

This was our first time dining at Demeter's. We have passed many times and the parking lot is always full. Our dinner was the classic Greek fare - delicious chicken souvlaki, rice pilaf, lemon roasted potatoes with greek salad. Great customer service, healthy portions and wonderfully comfortable ambiance. Obviously an established respected by locals. We will be back when in town.

I had high hopes for our meal. They were busy on a Saturday evening about an hour before close but found us a table, which was wonderful because our family was hungry. The service was friendly but very slow to get our food. When the food arrived it was not great at all. The ocean perch meal was entirely beige: wax beans, potatoes and fish, and the fish itself was full of bones and covered in scales. I have never in my life left fish and unfortunately I couldn’t finish it. Another person had the hamburger and it was greasy and not in a flavourful way. Sorry but don’t want others to have the same experience.

I am so impressed every time I eat here. Whether it’s take out or a dine in breakfast, the food is amazing. The quality fresh ingredients, generous portion sizes and the amazing tasting food is so satisfying. The prices are excellent and the staff are so friendly. I love the fish and chips, they taste better than restaurants in Stratford that specialize in serving fish and chips. The burgers are so tasty and the soup delicious. Thank you Demetre’s for always providing excellent quality food.

We arrived shortly after 12:30 pm & the place was busy. We were advised prior to being seated that it would be a wait after ordering food. We ordered the easiest items on menu that Saturday, which was the breakfast special for two of us & other person ordered the cheeseburger with fries in a matter of a few minutes. Which could be ordered up until 2 pm. We received our drink orders & then the waiting for our food orders started. We waited & waited, a couple ahead of us was just about to leave when their orders came, & a couple who came in behind us got their food order before us. Another 10 minutes by & we asked when our orders were coming. Waitress stated not much longer as ours were being plated. Well, we didn't get our food orders until almost 1:50 pm. Our breakfast sausage was so cooked it was burnt & petrified. We ordered rye toast & whole wheat toast. The butter or margarine on both didn't taste right & tasted spoiled or going sour. So never ate rest of rye or whole wheat toast. Advised waitress & hostess of such. So, if ever in Stratford looking for a place to eat, keep on going as I would not recommend this place due to slow kitchen staff cooks. Or, if you do stop, make a reservation & order food at reservation to ensure you get your food on time. Gordon Ramsey would be all over this place for service.

Excellent breakfast. Omelette and side of bacon. Real homefries. Asked for tomato on the side and got 4 big slices. First time, looking forward to going back next time through Stratford.

My friend had the fish & a side Ceasar salad, which she enjoyed very much. I had the club house wrap and fries, and it was excellent. I did have a reaction to something I ate, and when I notified the restaurant, their representative was very helpful trying to figure out ingedient I was sensitive to.
