We dined here for the first time last night , for our anniversary. From the moment we walked in the door the service was incredible. From being greeted , seated , to served it was an experience.
We had 3 people looking after us ( in a not overwhelming way ) and everything was perfect. The food was indescribably delicious and we left very full. I find sometimes fancy restaurants have tiny portions but we found everything to be a great value and surprisingly good portions.
Reegan mainly looked after us and she was very knowledgeable and pleasant to talk to.
My only complaint is we forgot to take our to go box of Sour Dough and butter we couldn’t finish. It’s closed in the off season but go in while you can !
We had the great pleasure to experience The Prune with a dear friend who has relocated to Stratford. Upon entering, our experience was outstanding in all ways. The service team is knowledgeable, welcoming, and passionate about what they do. Conor the wine sommelier made some excellent suggestions for us. And the food ... outstanding. This delightful little restaurant is sophisticated but not fussy. I highly recommend!

Truly exceptional. One of the most spectacular meals (and most fancy) we've ever had. Generous portions, amazing service.
Love that they mix up the prix fixe menu so you can do 2 apps/1 entree instead of only app/entree/dessert.
The amuse bouche and petit four were cherry on top of amazing dishes!

The Prune is a very special place to celebrate a very special occasion. The dishes of the prix fixe menu were delightful and well rounded. We kicked the evening off with a perfectly chilled glass of Prosecco. The sommelier helped us match the wines with our main courses which certainly added to the fantastic experience. The wait staff was very attentive, very pleasant and knowledgeable. The Prune is definitely a repeat for the next great occasion.

For over 30 years we have enjoyed the Stratford Festival experience. We have enjoyed the Prune Restaurant and now that they have moved to Ontario street new location even more. The ambience and the food is outstanding and we enjoy our server Saxon who goes out of her way to make this a first class experience. My wife is gluten-free and Saxon has catered to her needs. We even Were fortunate enough to hav Randy come out of the kitchen to make sure my wife knew everything she order was Gluten-free. If you plan to eat dinner in Stratford you owe this to yourself and friends to dine at this restaurant. Outstanding , ask for Saxon if she is working that day.

Exceptional. I don't mean "exceptional for Stratford." I mean exceptional as in Michelin star-worthy exceptional. The dishes simply glow with love: fresh, creative, beautiful and delicious, served by staff who share the joy of your experience. The uber chill atmosphere invites you to unwind and completely immerse yourself in the moment.
The Prune magically appears in May and just as magically disappears at the end of September. You may just find a glass slipper by the door.
Shout out to Conor for bringing all of this magic to life. The Prune is a very special place. A delight.
My friends and I had the most amazing time. It was a delicious and fancy without the snobbery. It was pricey, but well worth it :) We are planning a trip there next summer already!
Vegetarian options: My sister is vegetarian and she enjoyed what she had. There wasn’t A LOT of options per say, but she was very happy with her meals.

We had another wonderful meal at The Prune. The sourdough bread (made with a 14 year old starter) was amazing and it was served with freshly churned butter. The beet appetizer had tastes and textures that were perfectly complementary. The halibut was cooked perfectly with a slightly crunchy exterior. The lemon parfait served with ginger ice cream was delicious. Service, as always, was AAA+++….attentive and caring. All of the servers were great. We come to The Prune every year. We highly recommend this restaurant.

My wife and I have been to the prune in the past and had a great experience. So I made a reservation for her birthday and had a bit of a struggle finding it because they changed locations and have partnered up with the stratford culinary school. Wow we had such an amazing experience the service was over the top. The food was incredible. And they even have a uncorking fee of 25$ and let me bring my own champaign. We have done a fair amount of dining in stratford and tonight stood out as the finest dinning experience yet.. thanks guys we definitely will be back
