Kona Sushi's all-you-can-eat promise turned out to be a culinary mirage. For $35, we were met with a monotonous array of maki rolls bulging with rice and lackluster, mostly deep-fried appetizers. The "premium" offer of adding unlimited sashimi and nigiri for an extra $5 felt like a reluctant concession rather than a genuine upgrade. Desserts? Overpriced and unappealing - imagine paying extra for a deep-fried Twinkie or cheesecake.The service was the icing on this disappointing cake. It took almost an hour for our order to be acknowledged, and the need to write down orders on a shared sheet was cumbersome and inefficient. The server's disappearance act meant we couldn't even order more if we wanted to, not that we were tempted by the initial food experience.In sum, Kona Sushi is a letdown wrapped in rice. Overpriced, underwhelming, and utterly forgettable. Save your money and your appetite for somewhere else.

The food and staff/service was great! We definitely overestimated how much we’d be able to eat with the all you can eat option. It may stray from traditional sushi, but it has a lot of fun and unique rolls that we really enjoyed. The one that stuck out to me the most was the Mac Daddy which is a roll version of a Big Mac. It tasted very similar, but it was just fun to eat.Would recommend to try their signature and unique rolls! Oh yeah, their staff is great too. Super kind and welcoming. Kōna is a great spot for a double date! We usually do take out but dined in tonight. It was a really cool atmosphere - nice ambient lighting and neat decor! Food was spot on, and Courtney went above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience! Definitely recommend ??
