We have been dining at Garden's Gate Restaurant on Manitoulin Island for many years and love it!Garden's Gate is a hidden gem that offers a delightful culinary experience. Nestled in a charming location surrounded by lush greenery and beautiful flowers, this restaurant provides a tranquil ambiance perfect for a memorable dining experience.Upon entering, you are greeted with warm and friendly staff who are eager to make your visit enjoyable. The cozy interior adds to the overall charm of the place. The restaurant's commitment to sustainability is evident in their décor, as they incorporate natural materials and earthy tones throughout the space. The menu at Garden's Gate is a true testament to the farm-to-table concept. They pride themselves on using the freshest ingredients sourced from local farmers and growers, including their own garden, ensuring each dish is bursting with flavour. From starters to desserts, every item on the menu is thoughtfully prepared and expertly presented. And the rose botanical soda was delightfully refreshing! Thanks to Chef Hemstreet and Sheina for a lovely dinner! We highly recommend dining here and will be back!

We had a wonderful meal at the restaurant this long weekend. I had the 8 of sirloin and my wife had the pastra dish. Both were very good. We also had the potatoe trout cakes & Ceasar salad for appies that were delicious. The service was great & we were in & out in just over 1 hour. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. We will be back!Mark & Liz

We were there for the labor day long weekend. I ordered steak with roasted mash potatoes. It was the best I had. Lovely people and great service.

Extremely welcoming, friendly service. Everyone went above and beyond to accommodate our food preferences. The chef is brilliant and the food was universally delicious. Thank you so much from us all.Vegetarian options: Many vegan appetizer and main options. The chef also whipped up a delicious poached pear with walnuts, edible flowers, gooseberries, and floral essences for us for dessert. Brilliant.Dietary restrictions: Vegan friendly

This meal cost 19 CAD + tax. Worth it? Definitely not. Dry rice and white (!!) tofu, which means without any flavour. It was not in maple sauce as it should have. We also had vegan burritto, which was also blend, I hadn't know that rice and beans don't have any flavour before eating this. We were very dissapointed, because we felt like chewing something blend, we really didn't enjoy the food. Please, if you cannot cook tasty vegan food, don't offer it. Especially for high price. Restaurant was so beautiful (when we were waiting 25 minutes for take away), but it was all.

We used to dine often when the previous owners had it but due to covid and change of ownership we had not been for quite a while. We decided it was time to “re-discover” this quaint country located Bistro,We were a tad early so we took the opportunity to browse the beautiful gardens.Phoenix our server led us to a table for two (which we ate at many times) with cloth table cloth and then explained the Chef’s features. Nice paintings adorned the walls and were painted by one of the owners. Different from the previous owners but not in a bad way. Both features sounded great so my wife has the pasta and I had the Roulade which was very flavourful. Vegetables were el-Dente and tasty. Quantities were generous but did not leave room for desert.A very nice country bistro worth the trip.

Excellent food! Great service. The edible flowers from the garden made the experience so wholesome. The atmosphere was unusual since its part restaurant part shop.

After a 45 min drive from Gore Bay, we hoping for a good meal. We were impressed by the beautiful garden that greeted us as we arrived from the parking lot. Unfortunately the food did not meet our expectations. The trout cake appetizer tasted mostly like potato. The lamb burger was dry, thin and tasteless. The breaded chicken schnitzel was a tiny portion for $25. They have no liquor licence so their food better improve if the hope to stay open.
