Very disappointed. Was looking forward to the Haggis to be told they have non. Decided on the Shepherds Pie. Bad choice. Was all mashed potato and very little of the meat and gravy. The fries were all over cooked and only around an inch long. My wife had the curry and loved her dish. I can honestly say that it was the worst Shepherd's Pie I have ever had. No Stars ... Don't recommend.

First time there. Nice to find a restaurant that makes your food fresh, not factory supplied. Excellent choice of beverages. My margarita was one of the best. Great atmosphere too. Staff attentively and friendly. Will definitely go back.

Great food at great value. Lots of good choices on the menu. Will definitely be back for more. Probably one of our favourite now in the Blue Mountain area!
First timers, if it was closer to home we'd go weekly. Our server Kaitlin was lovely and did a great job. I really enjoyed the cranberry sour. My husband was enthralled with the wall of whisky. We had the corned beef and fish and chips.

Hard to know...we tried to walk in on Saturday Oct 5 but it was reservations only. It would have been nice if someone told us that ahead of time.....We were vendors at the Apple Harvest Craft Show...it would have been nice if someone in Meaford was willing to feed us on Friday or Saturday night....maybe even hold a bit of space for vendors....at least your response wasnt sarcastic and insular like the Red Door....

I visited this place at 8:40 PM, well before their advertised closing time of 10 PM, only to be informed that the kitchen was already closed. Very disappointing and misleading. If the kitchen closes early, it should be clearly stated. Won't be returning.

Called the day before to make a reservation as we were riding our bikes from Collingwood specifically to come to the pub. We were told they do not take reservations at lunch. When we arrived, they could not accommodate us, which I would have understood, except right on the wall it says they take lunch reservations! Disappointing. Treated rudely. New location is smaller and lacks the character of the original pub in Thornbury. Ended up at the Leeky Canoe where we were welcomed, had a great meal and made the long hot bike ride worth it!

So we went to Meaford as one of our summer vacation camping destinations. Some research about Meaford suggested that the Dam Pub would be a good place to try, it was disappointing. We went at dinner time on a Sunday, the restaurant didn’t look overly busy. Now I call it a restaurant because it’s definitely not a Pub despite the great selection of whiskey. We parked across the street and saw the sandwich board on the sidewalk speaking to the day’s special menu and an invite to come inside. When we walked in the hostess asked about our reservation, to which we had none and were told that we could sit at the bar to eat, so we did. After a look at the menu and drinks we order a couple drinks and then set to look over the menu. I asked to order one of the advertised specials from the sandwich board and was told that was not an option as they only prepare enough of the special based on the reservations and don’t take walk ins to account ??? Needless to say this was disappointing to say the least. As we were sorting out what to eat most of the tables from that seating cleared out. So rather than offer us a table and an option to order from the advertised specials our server (the bartender) waited awkward while we picked a substitute from the menu. Shortly before our food arrived a large walk in party arrived and we were asked to move to accommodate them, again at this time most of the seats in the restaurant were empty. Needless to say we ate and left disappointed at the choice to go to this place to eat as there are many other options in walking distance to this one. No apologies were ever offered and no accommodation was ever provided. I would never return to this restaurant nor would I recommend it to anyone travelling through this area. Spend your money where it’s appreciated, as we did definitely not feel like appreciated customers.

Looking for a unique experience? Look no further! Try their over 1000 kinds of whiskeys; or try the whiskey flight options, along with the very Scottish heritage style ambience and home style foods. <3

My wife, daughter and her boyfriend, and I stopped in for lunch this past Saturday after a hectic morning of house hunting. First time at The Dam Pub. We weren't familiar with any of the restaurants in town but decided to try this one based on a recommendation from a friend. We immediately loved the atmosphere with the fireplace on (it was a cool day) and the casual setting. Our server was friendly and helped us navigate drinks (encouraged us to try some local craft beers and they were all great). The menu had some interesting lunch items but we weren't feeling adventurous. We ordered fish and chips, the chicken wrap and the Dam Burger. All lunches were really very good and well worth the prices charged.. There was plenty of food (and we were starving!!) and the sides (fries/salads ) were perfect. Service was very good and overall it was a great meal. Will definitely come back again and would highly recommend.

Outstanding fish and chips and a haggis-topped poutine with the tastiest brown gravy I've had. The staff are friendly and the food is phenomenal.
