I ordered soya bean pork ribs rice, and the taste is really mediocre. The ingredients are lacking, it appears to me that the uncooked soya beans were sprinkled on top after the rib is cooked, rather than cooked with the ribs, so they have this over saltiness and staleness that uncooked fermented soya beans have. Also it does not come with any green vegetables. You need to add money to have vegetables, and the added vegetables portion is small. The soy sauce does not taste right, too salty and not enough sweet. And the worst thing is it does not come in a clay pot, it is cooked and served in a tin foil bowl. And for 14.99 a bowl(no vegetables), you can get much better clay pot rice anywhere else.
Disappointed. It was nothing like the photos on the menu. My food was served in aluminum containers, although it was a dine-in. It's overpriced and not so tasty. Yes, it was sizzling hot but not something I would eat in a restaurant.
Food was good but for the price it was a bit expensive considering the service was not the best. We arrived with a party of 7 and the orders we placed some of them never came or we received some orders that didn’t belong to us. Sides on display seemed always low or out. The waiters were so busy!Otherwise, ambience and decor was nice.
Amazing customer service and delicious food! The owner is so welcoming and even gave us complimentary dessert. Not to mention their brown sugar jelly with rose looks absolutely stunning (attached image)
This restaurant wowed me in a 1-star way. The owner is the cook, the server, and everything else. He buys the cheapest cuts of meat. His ribs were mostly bones. His duck is the same. There’s usually 1-2 pieces of edible cuts in your entire bowl. The dish as a whole taste like garbage.
First time at this restaurant. Decor is nice. They also have cakes and desserts which look good but didn’t order them.We ordered sausage and pork rib with rice and mushroom and minced pork with rice. It took about 30min for the food to arrive which is slower compared to other Asian restaurants. The food is average and pricier ($15) for the portion you get. If you are a member it’s $12.The owner (I think he is the owner) is friendly. Water bottles and packaged chopsticks were provided. The owner took his mask off a couple of times while we were there but after asking him to put his mask on, he did so.Really believe in supporting small businesses and wanted to like this place but it’s unlikely we will be back tbh.
nice owner. Price is right. Selection is good. Overall, it's good, worth to try
Authentic and friendly. The chef/owner has such good personality. The food is on par with what I lined up for in Hong Kong. Try A2, the traditional preserved meat and preserved sausage one! Here is the empty bowl and the amazing dessert :D
Covid-19 forced owner to lay off his staff. He runs the place by himself. Super friendly guy. Makes sure that all of his customers are accommodated. The rice casserole takes about 20 minutes to make. But it was definitely worth the wait. The food was amazing. I would definitely return for another round.
Very chic modern interior with traditional southern Chinese cuisine. It actually tastes very authentic. Every rice dish comes with daily soup, you can tell they have put in a lot of good Ingredients to stewing the soup, so light but yet full of flavours. Rice is top with a lot of toppings. I love my mushroom and free range chicken, my friend ordered cured meat and bamboo one was very good too. While you eat, the crispy bottom is forming. It’s good till the last bite. So full and satisfying at the end. And so cheap too. $12.99 includes the main dish, daily soup and poached veggies.

Nicely done hot pot rice with homemade preserved sausage thinly sliced and not too fat. The spare ribs were tender and not over cooked. Garlic cucumber appetizer was crunchy but a bit on the salty side. Chinese veggies were also crunchy and fresh. Root vegetable soup tasted like homemade with no msg. Best part was the slightly burned rice on the bottom of the pot which was chewy. I would give 4.5 stars because they were playing Cantonese songs that I grew up with! Definitely going back for more.
