I do not understand some of the reviews of this establishment! This is not a 5 Star restaurant! It is a Chinese takeout. For what it is, it offers great value and the food tastes good as well. The qualify of the food and taste has been always consistent too.

For a long time, I was looking for eggrolls that would be closest to my childhood memory. I read some of the reviews and one of them said they had really good eggrolls. I took a chance and went here for the first time. I finally found it!!!!!!!!! It is indeed the closest taste I remember as a kid. I will keep coming back for more!!!! And try other things along the way...

I ordered what was supposed to be a simple chicken and vegetable noodle dish along with two other things , but the chicken smelled absolutely awful — like something spoiled or worse. The smell was so strong it was genuinely nauseating, almost like a rotting carcass. I couldn’t eat it, and honestly, I’m shocked this even made it out of the kitchen. The vegetables were decent and the noodles seemed fine, but none of that matters when the protein smells like it’s been left out for days. Extremely disappointed and concerned about the food safety standards here.

We ordered some chicken wings and beef noodles and were very disappointed with the wings which were dry and hard and appears to have been refried and tasting quite stale.

When I was in college dating my boyfriend at the time we always used to order here. It was deliciois, cheap and fast. Couldnt go wrong with chinese food.
Our top picks were Lemon Chicken, Sweet n Sour chicken, General tso chicken, yeung chow fried rice, chow fun noodles and an eggplant dish.
Be aware this place is mostly for take-out. They dont really have a dine in area.

I love authentic Cantonese food, but sometimes Nostalgia demands the Canadian Chinese Food specialties of my childhood. And Nobody does it any better than "The General".
The Dinner for 2 is a tremendous value, huge portions of fried rice, light fresh chicken chop suey, meaty sweet & sour chicken balls, 8pc. deep fried crispy jar doo wings, and two perfect Toronto-style egg rolls.
We always also have to order one of the gourmet specialties like HG ribs, Sesame Fried Shrimp, Mandarin Pork Chops, or their excellent Cantonese chow mein, all terrific.
THE Best Canadianized Chinese food in North York, exactly what you expect it to be, and always arrives fresh and hot with lightning-fast delivery. Honestly, it's just great.
