A good persian cuisine in the city. The Barg Kebab was so soft and tender. The Koobideh was so delicious and I think the portion is good enough for two normal persons to share. The quality of food is very good. The only point is about the restaurant decoration which looks like it's messy.

There was two people being trained to be come waiters however, it was hard to get anyone’s attention, and it seemed like a few of them were just standing around and socializing with one another. When we are desperately trying to get attention. Also, we ordered full meals but we didn’t know that the meals will come with Tahdig so we ordered an extra meal that was a stew that came with tahdig. Would’ve been nice if the waiter had mentioned that our actual meals will come with tahdig that way we wouldn’t have had to order that one extra one that we all shared. It was a lot of food. Asked the waiter if he can bring us out, radish and the extras that usually come with the larger meals. He only brought me raw onions and parsley. We also had to add salt to everything. Been coming here for many many years not sure if I would go back after my last experience.

Used to be great, but now food quality is horrible, the beef the chicken the rice, dry, low quality meat, no taste or bad taste, no marination, no saffron, went from best persian food to worst in less than a year.

We would like to thank Shomal restaurant; ( رستوران شمال) for delicious food and appetizers, with unique fresh breads and unbeatable marinaded olives with fresh. Shomal restaurant has an excellent service.A great environment for many events, specially if you have non Iranian guest, anniversaries, even colleague’s ’ gathering. Our special thanks to Mr Amir who’s hosted us and served lunch; a polite and well mannered gentleman with warm welcoming attitude who is experienced in his work, Ms Fataneh who reserved a nice’ n cozy table for us.Thanks to all team who are managing this place perfectly. Certainly we will go to this restaurant again. Highly recommend????

I ordered beans and rice with neck, after half an hour my food came and the neck was completely cold and it was clear that it came from the freezer. My companions had finished their food and I was still talking to the server about the food. It was a very bad night

"North Restaurant in Toronto exceeded all expectations during my visit for the Iranian New Year celebration. Despite some negative reviews, my experience was nothing short of fantastic. The ambiance was warm and inviting, perfect for marking Norouz. The food was outstanding, showcasing the rich flavors and aromas of Iranian cuisine. Every dish was a delight to the senses, and the service was impeccable. I highly recommend North Restaurant to anyone looking for an authentic and memorable dining experience."Vegetarian options: There are lots of Vegetarian food there!

THIS IS WORTH THE READ TRUST ME IF YOU CARE ABOUT WHERE YOUR MONEY GOESI usually am a very generous person and have never left a negative review simply because I don’t have the time or energy to.However as an Irani and having this place be a regular location for my family over the years it’s absolutely abysmal how much of a decline North restaurant has taken.I no longer live in Toronto so when I go back to visit my family this is where we go as it’s reminiscent. However last weekend when I went home to visit them we were met with distraught, disgust, and our pockets absolutely rinsed for what we received. The atmosphere I will say is still very nice, nothing compares to how nice the building itself is. We were met with minimal service and one of our orders was forgotten, which is okay, I know mistakes happen as someone who’s worked in the food service industry but I also know how customers should be addressed when mistakes happen in the food industry. Instead of an apology and a simple “we will have one out immediately” we were told that they never received such an order leaving a little kid upset and hungry waiting for a plate of his own. However no one was particularly rude so the service gets 2 stars for showing our table, taking our orders and giving us our cheques. Now onto the food. As an Irani who’s grown up on food close to one’s culture, I’ve always had a love for the food and have been very lenient with restaurants as long as the flavours are there! However, the chicken kebab that all iranis know is meant to be marinated in a mix of spices with saffron, was simply seasoned with salt, pepper, and turmeric so it looked like saffron. That may not be the full list of their seasonings however thats exactly how the chicken tasted, dry and like pepper. Now onto the koobideh, an absolute Persian classic, close to flavourless, quite beefy, lacking proper seasoning, same with the barg kebab, tough, unseasoned and extremely disappointing. If I wanted tough meat with salt and pepper I would’ve bought an instant meal from the dollar store. Now rice! How the wonderful ways that us Persians make basmati rice, buttery with a nice topping of saffron. The rice was nothing special, clearly not fresh, the tadic was very hard to bite through almost plasticy and the “saffron” topping was clearly just turmeric, no smell or taste of saffron, disappointing really. They’ve also drastically dropped their portions as it used to be about a quarter of the plate of rice, has now been depleted to about a quarter of what it was before. Not to mention the INSANE price hike, for what it is, being regular food as it’s anything but Iranian food, it’s simply not worth 30-40$ a plate.I HIGHLY RECOMMEND DARBAND RESTAURANT INSTEAD!!! For the price you pay you’ll get a welcoming, authentic, and delicious experience!

We were here for celebrating persian new year. Kabab Torsh was really good but the Baghalighatogh could be more tasty. There was a DJ for that night and the atmosphere was great. We had so much fun. Totally I recommend it but it is a little bit expensive.
