This place look very promising at first and we even waited outside for their doors to be opened. When we got inside the atmosphere was very nice but only 1 server and the place was very small. We wanted to try their rose jjimdak but they said it won't be ready for another hour so we had to settle for the cheese gochujang jjimdak. Among the side dishes there was nothing special and the corn cheese we order did not have enough cheese. The fried dumpling was also very plain. The jjimdak came but it did not look like it will feed 3 people. Very small and the chicken was not very tasty. It was spicy enough but with only 1 server the service was very lacking. Waited long time for some water, I feel sorry for the server since he was too busy by himself. Overall not a very good lunch. Will not come back again.Parking: Weird round about parking .

I visited here for the first time with my family, and the appetizer salad was free of charge, and the serving staff was very friendly. The food was also delicious, but I ordered 4 servings of chicken, but the amount of food was a little less than I thought.

SsangKye Jjimdak Braised Chicken House offers a diverse menu of Korean-inspired dishes, and my family and I recently had the pleasure of dining there. Overall, our experience was pleasant, with a few notable highlights and some areas for improvement.Let's start with the food, which I would rate around a 3.5 out of 5. We indulged in a variety of starters, including the Honey Garlic Pizza, Corn Cheese, Rice Balls, and Mozza Balls. While the Honey Garlic Pizza was decent, it didn't particularly stand out, serving its purpose as a satisfactory appetizer. However, the Corn Cheese, Rice Balls, and Mozza Balls were flavorful and enjoyable, setting a promising tone for the rest of our meal.Moving on to the mains, we opted for the small boneless Black White Cheese Jjimdak and the Red Sauce Boned Jjimdak. The Black White Cheese Jjimdak had a unique flavor profile, but it leaned slightly towards the salty side for our liking. On the other hand, the Red Sauce Boned Jjimdak offered a pleasant level of spice, though perhaps not enough to fully satisfy those seeking a fiery kick. My wife, in particular, preferred the sweeter notes of my dish, emphasizing her preference for a more sweet and savory combination. In terms of service, we were impressed. The staff were attentive and accommodating throughout our meal, ensuring that our needs were promptly met and providing recommendations when needed. Their hospitality certainly added to the overall enjoyment of our dining experience.Ultimately, our children thoroughly enjoyed their meal, which is always a win in our book. While there were some minor shortcomings in certain dishes, the pleasant service and overall ambiance of SsangKye Jjimdak Braised Chicken House made for an enjoyable family outing. We would certainly consider returning in the future, perhaps exploring more of their menu offerings to discover additional hidden gems.

I was craving spicy rice cakes and dragged my son to come try this place. We’ve never been here before and we were not disappointed!!! Everything was SO good!! And the further we got into the dish, the more surprised we got with the dumplings, rice cakes, noodles. We also got an order of corn cheese for that alone I’d come lolWe came around 5pm and it was pretty quiet. We enjoyed our time there and my son really liked the music ?100% would recommend to try!

Food was amazing! Initially we came here because google tricked us into thinking this restaurant served Korean Fried Chicken, it was disappointing at first but once the food came out we were more than happy that we ended up here instead. The servers were very kind and the atmosphere in this place is calm and relaxing. Definitely will be back.

JOKE ! JOKE !This restaurant is a JOKE, simply just joke.I ordered red sauce boneless chicken it came with small 8-10 piece of chicken, 2 dumplings, little bit of noodle and 4 tiny rice cake, and 1 tiny rice cake with cheese in for the price of $41. (You can make this under $8 at home). The portion was very small although it says it's for 2 people.I also ordered Honey Garlic pizza, this is an insult, a 6 inch not very fresh store bought pita bread with some mozarella cheese and raisin, stuff that you can make it home for under $2.*** I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT, IT'S A JOKE. ***- Small portion- Garbage food- Way way overpriced

Visited SsangKye Jjimdak after a while and it's still fantastic! Fun fact: Korean group BTS stopped by here a few years ago, and it's easy to see why. Despite being small, the intimate space adds to the charm. The Rosé Jjimdak was a delightful blend of savory and spicy, paired perfectly with the cheese corn side. Great service and a hidden gem in the plaza. Highly recommend!

Whether you’re a Korean food lover or a devoted BTS fan this is a must-visit place located in a bustling plaza in Yonge and Steels. The famous K-pop band visited this restaurant in 2019 and did not forget to leave their autograph which now hangs proudly on the restaurant’s wall alongside photographs taken during their visit.Despite the limited seating, the restaurant was surprisingly fairly empty on a Saturday evening, which gave me more privacy to lay back and enjoy this notoriously delicious meal.To start off, we were greeted by warm traditional Korean tea of some kind (I think barley but I could be wrong) followed by a house salad appetizer and a side dish of pickled radish.I ordered a Rose Jjimdak dish (CA$38) which came with rice cakes (Tteokbokki), glass noodles, a couple of dumplings, onions, boiled carrots, boiled potato slices, and of course the star of the dish, 500 grams of braised chicken that just melts in your mouth. We ordered a small portion size meant for 2 people. There are add-ons if you like more stuff added to your dish like sausages, vegetables, quail eggs, cheese, etc. You can also choose your spice level. The menu offers a great selection of other side dishes.I also tried their infamous Honey Garlic Pizza (CA$ 9.99) and as somebody with a sweet tooth, I thoroughly enjoyed it. If you think pineapple on pizza is weird, wait until you try dried cranberries on pizza. The flavours worked well together with the cheese topping. They went above and beyond by offering a complimentary side dish on the house, a deep-fried seaweed roll dish; basically, glass noodles wrapped in seaweed with a soy sauce dip and that was quite interesting.Of course, a Korean meal wouldn't be complete without a good bottle of Soju. So we had a grapefruit-flavoured Jinro soju (CA$ 20) on the side as well. For a party of two hungry individuals, this was too big of a feast. We ended up wrapping the leftover Jjimdak dish to take home. Overall the service was excellent. They apologized for the “long” wait but honestly, it wasn’t much of a wait at all.The honey garlic pizza is highly recommended.

Eating my leftovers now and dang! The jjimdak with black sauce is delicious. We came upon this resto as we were at the Big Al's a few minutes away. Had never had jjimdak before so had no idea what we were ordering but wow! Serving portion is perfect and it came sizzling hot. The black sauce was delicious, I could drink it, chicken was juicy and covered in bubbling stretchy cheese. Heaven! Service was friendly and attentive. The place is small so you may have a wait when you visit but its worth it. Also enjoyed the cheese balls and cheese corn. We will be back!
