I've been purchasing baked goods at the St Urbainl's location at Bathurst and Steeles and at their original location on Doncaster Avenue (long since closed) since they first opened. I used to be served by the owner but now the task is carried out by a friendly and efficient team of ladies, Some who have been there from day one. Best bagels outside of Montreal and their cranberry/lemon pound cake is delicious. Parking is bad sometimes but well worth the drive and the...
Too bad baked bagels aren't made daily anymore. Sign of the times I guess.

This place has gone downhill so much. Now, during the week, they sell "artisinal NYC bagels", instead of the wood fired Montreal bagels that made them famous. Just a standard bagel now Monday-Thursday and $8 a dozen? Better to wait for the weekend when they fire up the wood stoves and do proper Montreal bagels for $12.I cant help but wonder if this isn't a result of losing their client base, with frequent price increase coupled with discontinuation of the customer...
