I’ve been coming to What A Bagel every week for the past seven years with a group of friends, and while the food and coffee are consistently great, there’s one person who’s made our visits truly special: Edita.

From day one, Edita has brought an energy and warmth that stands out. She’s friendly, professional, and always greets us with a smile that makes the place feel more like a neighborhood hangout than just a restaurant. She remembers our names, our usual orders, and always takes a moment to say hello—even on the busiest mornings.

Over the years, seeing Edita has become part of the routine we genuinely look forward to. Her kindness and consistency are a big reason we keep coming back. She adds something personal and uplifting to the experience, and it never goes unnoticed.

Shoutout to Edita for being the heart of our favorite breakfast stop. What A Bagel is lucky to have her—and so are all of us who walk through those doors every week.

Thornhill has some great spots for bagel lovers, and one of my favorites is What A Bagel, especially for their flat bagels. I really enjoy the pumpernickel flat bagel; it has a deep, rich flavor that pairs perfectly with cream cheese and fresh veggies.

I had an amazing brunch at What A Bagel! I ordered the Florentine Eggs Benedict, and it was absolutely perfect — the poached eggs were done just right, the hollandaise was rich and creamy, and the spinach added a fresh, tasty touch. It was all served on a fresh, perfectly toasted bagel that made the whole dish extra special. The sweet potato fries on the side were crispy, lightly seasoned, and a delicious complement to the meal. Great food, friendly service by Shaun (really great service)and a cozy atmosphere — I’ll definitely be back!🙏🙏

What a gem in the neighborhood! What A Bagel at this location is hands down one of the best spots for fresh, delicious bread and baked goods. The owner is incredibly friendly and greets you with a warm smile, making you feel right at home. The shop itself is clean, cozy, and inviting—perfect for grabbing a bite or taking some goodies to go.😉
Every item I’ve tried has been absolutely yummy, soft, fresh, and full of flavor. Highly recommend to anyone who loves good food and great service!💕

Joneen our waitress was a dynamo. Happy, quick, perky, efficient and accommodating. Her smile and energy are like sunshine, and she made our breakfast experience great!

Great fresh bagels! The sundried tomato cream cheese was amazing. It cost about $6 for a bagel with the cream cheese.

What a Bagel - What a Place!!!

This is my favourite local spot for breakfast or lunch, and it never disappoints. On my latest visit, I treated myself to a custom omelette with cheddar cheese, onions, and chicken, and it was absolutely delicious. I love that they let you pick three ingredients for your omelette without extra charges—most places barely let you have one or two before adding extra charges.

My server, Shaun, was great - super friendly and attentive. We chatted about how their omelettes are a standout on the menu - they are “notoriously good”.

The omelette was perfect - served quickly, fresh, and piping hot. (Pro tip: give it a minute to cool before diving in!) The home fries were crispy and flavorful, and the toast rounded out the meal beautifully. I left feeling completely satisfied, but not without grabbing a few of their famous bagels to take home. This place makes the best bagels in the city, and their bakery is loaded with fresh-baked goodies.

I’ve also had their catered meals before, and those are just as good as their dine-in. This place is a total gem—I’ll definitely be back soon!

Very little amount of lox (smoked salmon) on lox bagel. Poppy seed cake is very dry.

there is a particular bald waiter who is EXTREMLY disrespectful. i don’t understand his pre conceived thoughts about how we won’t tip or we won’t pay because he truly treats us with the utmost disrespect and attitude. his constant need to have a frown on his face is unpleasant and unnecessary. it truly ruins the experience as me and my friends are weekly customers but recent have opted for other options instead of this location. the bald middle aged worker truly needs to be removed or have a attitude change.
