The beautiful colours of this building caught our eye and made us stop as we were passing by on our way up north. The ice cream was delicious with lots of choices and the service was excellent. We hadn’t had lunch so we also decided to order a poutine from the food truck right on site. It was one of the best I’ve had, it was delicious and generous in portion size. We couldn’t finish it! So glad we stopped in and we will definitely go back!!

You can't miss The Parlour if you are visiting Thornton! I recently visited and had an amazing experience! The variety of flavors is impressive—there’s something for everyone, including non-dairy options and sorbets. The ice cream quality is top-notch, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Located right on the main street, the shop has a lovely outdoor seating area, perfect for people-watching.

Overall, I highly recommend The Parlour for delicious, high-quality ice cream in a fun and welcoming atmosphere. I’ll definitely be back!

While on a family road trip, we made a stop that turned out to be a highlight of our journey. We were warmly welcomed by the owner, who made us feel right at home and took the time to explain the wonderful variety of ice cream options. There were so many interesting flavors, and the ice cream was fantastic—creamy and full of flavor. The Maple Walnut was my favorite, and my partner absolutely loved the Lavender Lemonade. They also have great seating, and it looks like the busiest ice cream shop in town! Next time, we’ll definitely try the chip truck beforehand. Definitely worth the trip!

We came on our way to the cottage for ice cream and poutine! I got chocolate fudge brownie in a waffle cone, my husband got bubblegum in a cup and our daughter had a kiddie cone of strawberry! We were all very happy with our choices and the ice cream. Honestly the BEST ice cream I’ve ever had :) im a sucker for a good scoop and the portions are huge! A single alone was enough but it was so good I could have had another! We also shared a regular sized poutine between the 3 of us and it was so large we weren’t even able to finish it all! This was a wonderful family trip for us and we will most certainly be back! The employees made it an experience to remember especially for my daughter! Thanks ladies!

Vegetarian options: Was chatting with some of the workers while waiting for our dessert and food and was very happy to learn they are completely gluten free and have options for those who are vegetarian as well! Well done!

Kid-friendliness: So much stuff for the kids to see and do! I was so happy to be able to take our child there and be able to relax and take some time to have a wonderful family memory on our way up to the cottage!

Wheelchair accessibility: I’m able bodied but it was clear that anyone who had some mobility issues would be able to have the exact same experience no problem!

Stopped in at this ice cream parlour on my way through Thornton on Hwy. 27.
Great looking building, eye catching, and easy to park along the street.
The owner was very friendly and helpful.
They service Central Smith ice cream, which is not my#1 choice, but still pretty tasty.
80 flavours as well so tough to not find something you will like.

I wanted a nice place to take the family for ice cream and stumbled across this one. And boy are we glad we did! The ice cream was delicious, all 4 flavours! Not to mention the fry truck was perfect right beside. We came for ice cream and ended up eating dessert and dinner. Everyone is so nice, and friendly. We will definitely be coming here more often :) Thanks for being so great!

I wrote a review about 3 weeks ago, lamenting this year's change in waffle cones to one which I felt was inferior to waffle cones from previous years. We were there again yesterday and much to my delight, I was served my ice cream in the waffle cone that we have enjoyed for several years. It's crunchier, tastier and less apt to crack and break while enjoying the ice cream. Well done, Brenda.
