Probably one of the best burgers I have ever had in my life. Drinks are a little pricy and it was loud at times, but otherwise, was solid.

Our dinners were served timely, hot and delicious!! Service was exceptional!! The music was nice but a little too loud as we couldn't hear each other when talking at times due to the level of the music.

I had a great meal again last evening. My favourite items are the fish tacos and the double patty black bean burger, but others enjoyed their flatbread and fish and chips. The staff are all excellent: friendly, attentive, and accommodating. Friday night jazz night is a great evening out and kudos to management for ensuring they are well staffed.

This was my second time at anchor and ore. The first for lunch. No complains. This time for brunch. Overall the food was ok. Several hot meat dishes and sides, a couple salads, French toast, eggs benny, bacon, sausage, Hashbrowns and a few desserts that you can tell were brought in. I do have a few minor complains that would make me return for brunch again. The beef at the carving station was top sirloin. Cooked well and very tender. It would have been better if they had also offered horseradish and/or au jus. There was a cold plate of nice looking shrimp but no cocktail sauce to go with it. I didn't try it but we did hear someone at the next table ask for cocktail sauce though. The bread rolls were hard as a rock. You couldn't even break them in half. No exaggeration. I did let the waitress know. She apologized and brought us fresh ones which were nice but they did not replace the ones on the buffet or check to see how the rest were. They offered a mango or mixed berry smoothie. While tasty, it would have been much better had they been cold or sitting on ice. I get that it is easy enough to ask for sauces, replacements etc., but for a truly enjoyable experience these little details should have already been put in place. The staff were very friendly and the location is very beautiful. I think I would return again for an a la carte meal, but not the brunch.

Unfortunately, out of 6, 5 ordered the filet mignon special. The steaks were tough, chewy and two came out well - overdone. We sat there for a long time before even being asked for our drink order. The server had set the table up with water then disappeared. I had to turn around to ask the bartender and she had the hostess go find our server to get our drink order! When I booked, I had indicated that 1 person (me) is vegan and Celiac. I had hoped that there would be something other than a salad or a veggie burger on the menu and that with enough notice (1 week), the kitchen could get creative. They did not. I ended up with a beet salad and had to ask for pan seared tofu.

Ambiance was great. Mood Indigo played in the background and it was nice. Server was very kind and attentive. We waited a bit of a long time for our meal, but was delicious. The downfall was the prices, I know food prices are high, but this was the most expensive restaurant we have been to in Thunder Bay. We go out with friends once a month and try new places. This was pricey. They gave us complimentary dessert for our anniversary and it was delicious and appreciated.

The whole experience would of been perfect if only we could hear ourselves talk. The music was way tooooooo loud for a restaurant.
