We ate here for the first time last night and the food was delicious. Good portions and very fresh. The staff were very accommodating of my food allergies, the executive chef even came out to offer me good alternatives. Food came out rather quickly. Cute little place with a different type of menu. My only complaint was that at the end of the night our server took an extended amount of time to bring us the POS machine so we could leave. Luckily one of the other servers saw us itching to leave and cashed us out. Highly recommend the sticky toffee pudding for dessert!

The food was okay, albeit uninspired. The price of the appetizer was absolutely not worth it at all. Apparently this is the kind of place where you have to ask those incisive kinds of questions of the dish to not get fleeced. $20-something for exactly 4 scallops in common garlic butter with plate garnishes was an aggravating way to begin service. It's not even creative as a dish, it's just expensive. They tasted alright for what it was but it was over as soon as it started, approaching amuse bouche territory. The main was also good-not-great and felt like it was the second hit of the night of asking a 3 star price for a 2 star effort. Homogenous seafood pasta in watery cream. It may as well have been blended for all the difference it would've made to the flavours. Not bad, but again of exceedingly middling quality for the price. We bailed before giving dessert a chance to underdeliver. I'm not saying never go, it wasn't foul or anything, but keep expectations reigned and be ready to spend fine dining prices for steakhouse fare.

I loved Seler so much I went twice in one week! The first time was a work dinner on a Tuesday and we had Marcus as our incredible server. We enjoyed appetizers and mains and drinks all at a reasonable cost. The seared scallop appy was perfectly cooked and presented, very flavourful. The shrimp tempura was so light and fresh, the maple and lemon created a flavour explosion on your tongue. My colleagues ordered the NY striploin and the Salmon entrees. The NY strip was cooked to order and beautifully presented in strips on the plate. The salmon and risotto was full of flavour, juicy and very appealing. I ordered parmesan crusted chicken (I normally avoid chicken breast for fear of being served something overcooked). This meal was incredible, its been a month since we were there and I can still recall the fresh lemon flavour of this meal and the crisp vegetables and the juiciness of the chicken!
The second visit went much the same as the first, an amazing server named Heidi (I think) took care of us. My partner and I brought my mother, whom I love dearly, but hate dining out with because she always finds something to complain about. We skipped the appetizers, I had the short rib (fall apart goodness), my partner had the seafood pasta (perfectly cooked noodles, flavorful seafood) and my mom had the pork tenderloin. We also indulged in creme brulee and a chocolate gateau. Everything was spot on! When we left, my mom proclaimed it was the best meal she ever had ~ I nearly cried! I can't thank the staff and owners of Seler enough for this experience, truly amazing. My photos won't upload otherwise I would share those.

Amazing food choice and presentation. Plenty of variety: different kind of meet, fish, seafood, not like a standard menu. Appetizers were impressive. We had group of three and ordered duck, pork, and steak for main course. Incredible!
Cost some money, but we were more than happy to find such a gem in Thunder Bay. Highly recommended. Waitress could be a little bit more informative…
