I made a reservation for Valentine's Day and later received a call from the manager saying they had an opening from their cancellation list. When I initially called the man who answered never said anything about being on a cancellation list, I called and asked to make a reservation about a week before Valentine's Day and he said I'm booked. After talking with the manager over the phone I got my table and time, but the miscommunication was very frustrating. The food was pretty good but the portion was small and I ordered pasta. Restaurants have a huge profit margin on pasta, why give a small portion that won't even fill the average person? I also didn't like how small the restaurant was. Honestly only reason this isn't 1 star is because the food was pretty good and was reasonably priced. However, it was portioned too small, the place feels very small and cramped, and the service was quite sub par both during service and especially leading up to it.

Nook is a unique experience. Very good food. Always packed, but to be expected. Can't wait for the patio to open. It is family style so needs a few people to get the size of the orders right.

If you’re in Thunder Bay, Nook is an absolute must-visit. We had an exceptional meal here, starting with the Greens Soup. The blend of chickpeas and pecorino was great, but the walnuts were the real highlight—they gave the soup a vibrant, unexpected taste.
We also tried the Focaccia, which came with a bean dip instead of the traditional olive oil. It was my first time trying this combination, and it was surprisingly delicious. For mains, the Gnocchi Pomodoro was a perfect, high-quality classic, but the Pizza Diavolo was the true standout. They hide the spicy soppressata between the cheese and the dough, and with the Calabrian chili on top, it creates a spicy taste explosion that works perfectly with the cheese.
The service was great and the prices are very genuine for the quality. It stays busy, so I’d highly recommend making a reservation!

My wife and I were in Thunder Bay for the weekend and we found Nook on-line. Place was packed but we found two seats at the bar. Marla was welcoming and attentive. Food was amazing. I had the Rigatoni Puttanesca, and my wife had the meatballs appetizer. We shared the burrata, which was perfect. We tried to get in there the next night to no avail, but we are back again tonight.
Reservations are recommended. You won't be disappointed!

Delicious food, but the service needs improvement. I often find that when we go in and ask for a table and don’t have a reservation that it is an inconvenience to them. Recently the service has also been inattentive. Hope that it can improve a bit because it’s awkward sitting in a restaurant not feeling like you’re welcome.

Had a funny experience in this place. The little lady bartender was so rude and entitled to being catered to, when i responded in kind, she left and came back with some little dude who stood there and watched me for a bit. It was an awkward scene, things were escalating and on a level I haven't seen in years(thank god). Lol it was actually comical. The little dude and woman tried they're best to get a reaction, i was deeply offended but old enough to know better. Nice try unruly staff.

Very nice cozy and amazing patio vibe is what you get here. And of course the pizzas are super good. I loved the dip they serve with focaccia for me that was really a highlight. Our server was very sweet and friendly and she made it sure we really can have a good time with nice suggestions for drinks too
