We were seated immediately upon are for our reservation and enjoyed a pre dinner drink (extra dirty Martini which was superb and Peroni beer) Nick our server was attentive and very personable! We enjoyed soup, meatballs, the caprese salad and shrimp scampi ans our appetizers and we both had the risotto with a grilled chicken breast. Finished off with coffee and Vanilla Amaretto Creme Brûlée. The portion sizes were on the larger size and a great value. Everything was served to the perfect temperature and consistency and all was delicious. Highly recommend Grotta Trattoria and we will return very soon

What a great little restaurant. Service was attentive but not intrusive. Food was tasty and portions were excellent, we both had leftovers for next day. Half price wine night on Wednesday was an excellent choice. Go ahead and skip dessert, we did, but we had a heavenly affogato instead! So tasty!
Highly recommended for a nice night out.

I had the absolute pleasure of dining here for lunch today. Our server, Meaghan was very welcoming and had excellent menu knowledge. Food was absolutely delicious. I enjoyed the bruschetta, the gnocchi, and for dessert, an absolute showstopper, the crème brûlée. I will definitely be back for lunch. 10/10

Went to Grotto for their first day of lunch.
The sausage Pizza was delectable, had a nice sweetness in the sauce and the peppers added an amazing hint of spice. Our server Meaghan was very sweet and had a contagious smile and exceptional menu knowledge. overall a tremendous experience, guess we found are new favourite lunch spot

I went on wine and magic night. The wine was good and the service was fast. The food is a little pricey but tastes very good. Would recommend for a date night.

Out of 8 of us, 3 of the meals were absolutely awful (eg one pasta dish was so oily, literally dripping in chili oil) and the remaining 5 were barely edible, devoid of flavour, not delicious, fantastic, etc. Tasted like there wasn’t a Chef in house considering the cost of each meal averaged $35! Most of us were terribly disappointed because we chose this restaurant based on the reviews- we honestly believe most of the reviews must be friends/family of the owners. Sorry to say none of us will be back.

Apps were amazing, food, my main was pretty good. Service was top notch. Our server Marcus was attentive, knowledgeable and a good time, made the experience- had great wine pairings all evening!
We had a great time, we'll definitely be back!

Tried GT for the first time tonight for our anniversary. Was initially disappointed that they didn't have the carbonara on the menu, since it's my go to at any Italian resturant, so I ordered the chicken fettuccine instead. It did not disappoint. Well seasoned and the chicken was cooked and flavoured perfectly. My husband enjoyed his chicken parm as well. The creme brulee was also amazing. My only small criticism was that the burrata could use a touch of salt, but I am Finn, so I like my salt.
Marcus was our waiter and we received impeccable service. His wine recommendation was spot on. We very much enjoyed the atmosphere as the lighting was dim and the layout made for a quieter dining experience, which was refreshing as most of my favourite resturants are way too loud.
We will definitely be back.

Just went there for dinner with my fiancé. One of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. I highly recommend starting with the ravioli and then moving on to the caprese salad. As for the main, the braised beef is fantastic, and so is the chicken parm. I also recommend getting the crème brûlée for dessert. 10/10 meal and service.

All of our meals were too salty, drinks were too strong and salty, all of us didn't finish our meals the waitress asked why and we told her (not in a complaining way but in an informative way) but wasn't remedied in anyway so pointless of her to ask - I've heard bad things but wanted to try it anyways but I wouldn't recommend much better options out there including the seller which is owned by the same people

We reserved a table on a whim and were rewarded with an absolutely wonderful experience. We were warmly welcomed and the attentive service continued throughout the meal. The set menu offering for the evening, which included delectable options, was a pleasant surprise. We enjoyed a caprese salad followed by a pasta dish featuring rapini, pine nuts, olive oil and cheese. Desert was a choice between crème caramel and cannoli. We ordered one of each. Everything was top notch. This restaurant is a must when visiting Thunder Bay.
